I don't get this guy or his team.

If he wants to continue fighting at 160, shouldn't his aim be to fight the MW champion? The guy who tapped his ass? The guy he had a rematch clause to fight.

Yet, it appears that the words Sergio Martinez are now foreign to Kelly Pavlik. Never hear **** about him. He's probably going to target Felix Sturm. What would that accomplish? Sturm might be a good fighter with a paper belt, but he sure isn't the MW champion of the world!

Kelly if you have no desire to once again become the true MW champion of the world, GTFO the division.

He's praying for a Williams win, no doubt.

    168lbs.
Restart and start from scratch @ Super Middleweight.
IMO, Stay the **** away from Martinez, Bad fight unless he can drag him to 168

I don't get Pavlik or his team either. If he wants to be in serious contention to be one of the best fighters out there, he needs to step up to the plate against the best. At middleweight, the big names are obvious in Sergio Martinez and Paul Williams. I've heard from Team Pavlik that they are having trouble making the weight. Well, in that case make the move to the super middleweight division and there are even more big names in Lucian Bute, Andrade Librado, Abraham Arthur, Carlo Froch, Andre Ward, Andre Dirrell, and Allan Green. What is the issue? Pavlik is still a big name and I'm sure there are fighters who would still want to fight him.

he's fighting at 164 to determine if he can go any lower. if he can he will, if he can't he'll go to 168. he was intent on moving up to 168, went on vacation with his family, then arum started up w/ this whole jcc jr thing at mw. this was not kelly's idea. kelly then said he was open to the idea IF he can still make 160 and be effective. if they decide after this fight at 164 that it just aint happening, he'll move up.

    this is all well documented.

He entered camp at 172. The norm in 2006-2007 was 174-177.

Every ****ing fight for Pavlik is a tune up fight! Martinez was his last live opponent since forever after ducking williams for a year!

Rubio, Lockett, Espino. WTF kind of resume is that for a champion?

People love to watch a puncher like pavlik fight because win or loose they get entertainment. Pavlik is too stupid to comprehend this so thinks he's protecting his 'legacy' when any real boxing fan knows he is nothing special so may as well entertain us and make millions in the process.

Pavlik versus Froch, Kessler, Sturm, Sylvester even Abraham would make millions and be bloody intersting but Pavlik just won't fight them because he is too ****ing chicken. How many 'tune ups' does a world class athlete need?

AND HE AINT GETTING YOUNGER EITHER!!!!!!!!!

pavlik is starting to get in a bad place, his career is going down hill and its difficult for boxers to accept.

It is sort of like hatton when he couldnt make 140 without problems. He aint going to last at 147 thats for sure and when he is coming in weak at 140, he just has no where to go.

Martinez will school Pavlik again, just based on their styles. Pavlik will get destroyed at 168 there are too many bigger stronger guys there.

Reality is that he can keep fighting but he is never going to be on the top again. He can have success against the right type of opponent at a lower skill level.

You just referred to 3 mandatory title defenses as tune-ups. You really have no idea what you are talking about.
