I like Kessler for an opponent. Mikkel is super orthodox, nothing flashy, and that suits Kelly well. The opposite is true as well. Stylistically they match up quite well.

As much as I agree with this, I also work in sales and marketing. Pavlik will bring a pretty big American audience to the table.

Networks and sanctioning bodies won't let a lack of resume in the division get in the way of a money making fight.

Pavlik/Rosinsky replaced the Brandon Rios fight on very short notice due to a Rios injury. Rosinsky was not Team Pavlik's first choice. Two better fighters turned him down.

First I've heard this. Who? Not that a 4 week training camp wouldn't be a good reason if you aren't already in training.

Pavlik is a huge draw. Best raw power in the game. And very likable despite his drinking problems.

I respect Pavlik and want the best for him after his problems, but now as expected, some of the less rational fans are having to cope with "loose grip on reality" syndrome.
Kelly has no meaningful wins at 168.If he can't get down to 160 again then I'd like it to be him fighting Bute in November(??)
But I doubt Bute would take a risk like that when he needs to get his confidence back, and TBH,that's only natural.
If I was a Pavlik fan, what I would really like would be to fight JCC Jr at around 165 in a PPV catchweight.
168 doesn't seem to suit Kelly.

Why nt have Kelly fight the young gun in Oosthuizen? Maybe 4 the IBO?
