That doesn't make it any easier. Taylor did give Pavlik all he had in their two fights. Carl Froch whose in the tournament also had a tough time beating Taylor. Taylor may never be an all time great. But he's still tough for anyone who fights him.

Just look what HBO paid Jones for fighting postal workers, janitors, alcoholics, and who knows what else. I think he was paid around $5,000,000 per mismatch.

 

Pavlik can have a perfectly viable career at middleweight. he can rack up a ton of defenses ala Bhop and secure his legacy. It is not necessary to move around in weight to make a legacy, bernard proved that. Kelly will have to just settle for less large size purses and more frequent fights. He can easily defend his belts and eventually just like bhop he will get his recognition.

He should have taken the sturm fight tho and cemented himself at middle.

So basically you are saying let pavlik fight cans and just rack up wins, but when arthur defended his belt 10 times he was fighting tomato cans for most posters, again no disrespect to your post but why is it ok for Pavlik to do it and yet when arthur was fighting his opposition he was ridiculed nonstop?:huh

 

There won't be a 2nd or 3rd fight for Arthur. After Taylor humiliates him for 12 rounds Arthur will go back to fight crackheads and hobos.

Kelly is the best fighter in the mw by far - he still is and is anything but shot or done, but he has to stop talking bs, especially regarding the smw tournament which is the best thing that happened in boxing for years. Personally it would have been sensational to see Pav take part in the tournament also. However, he wasn't invited to join it and I can't blame Sauerland for not asking him. Pavlik's problem is Arum.

 

Abraham/Sauerland CHOSE Ayala over Zuniga, and Simon over Wright. More recently they CHOSE a two time Pavlik victim over Pavlik. That's the type of thing that Arthur was critisized for.
