VERY True! PAV is still a force at 160 but stylistically he had a problem as soon as he mentioned Bhops name. I'm sure he could have done a little better but the outcome was ALWAYS going to be the same no matter what Kelly showed up that night.

Sure, in the postfight he manned up, but now we have all this bull**** about how he wasn't fit to fight. It's almost laughable.

If he was ACTUALLY not fit to fight, I would have been pleased if he postponed the fight. I'm not buying that he wasn't fit to fight to begin with.

Yep, he admits in the postfight interview that it was the man across from him that caused him to lose, then after-the-fact we get reports of him being sick. Ya, sure.

They had agreed before hand to keep that stuff quite. But the documentation is there. Believe what you want. Put a tooth under your pillow tonight too.

These are the things that tell me that Hopkins works over any version of Pavlik. The perfect gameplan followed by the perfect execution.

I am a tremendous fan of Pavlik, make no mistake about it. It just wasn't his night.

I think that to call yourself "a tremendous fan" is a bit of a stretch. If I'm wrong please point me to a single postive post you've ever written about KP.

    And, is it now official that you are taking the position that;

    1) Thomas Hauser's article was loaded with lies?

    2) Two doctors risked their licenses by prescribing medications Pavlik did not need, and by falsifying medical records?

You cannot take a reasonable postion on the evidence, AND deny the problems. You can't have it both ways.

Apparently they HADN'T agreed to keep it quiet, on account of the fact that it's out? If they were going to keep it quiet, we arguably wouldn't know about it now, would we? Nice try.

You can search my old posts. I've been a Pavlik supporter for years, and a tremendous fan.

My position, as I've stated before, is that Pavlik was not suffering to the extent we would be lead to believe, and that any version of him is bested by Hopkins.

Look. Pavlik belongs at 160. You saw in the rematch he didn't look like himself with taylor.

Against Hopkins he doesn't carry the weight well against someone who is going to be able to bully him. (Hopkins outweighed him by lbs weighing 180 on fight night.)

At 160. I dont see Pavlik being beat.

Based on the statement I put in bold I don't believe you even read Hauser's article. He was in the locker room before and after the fight. What did Hauser, who unlike any of us, was actually there, say?

Excellent post- Hopkins again created his own weight class of 170 and brought Pavlik up to a weight in which he doesn't perform nearly as well as 160. This was a much bigger factor then the elbow injury and bronchitis which were just additional factors. Hopkins has always been a light heavy with an amazing ability to shrink down to 160 until it caught up to him and he had no gas int the tank and lucky Jermain Taylor got to take full advantage of. That's why Hopkind filled out 175 so well and actually walked into the ring heavier than Tarver- aroound 183 on fight night. Hopkins over stayed at 160 for history- to get the middleweight title defense record, and I don't see how you can't ignore the amount of much smaller fighter that litter his record of great wins... Smart dude though, ensuring he has the advantage going in. And don't tell me he didn''t drop down to his knees in the 10th, feigning a low blow because he was simply being overwhelmed and likely to get stopped by Calzaghe, he really needed that 3 minute breather as he was fighting a skilled guy his size. Calazghe started his career at 168 as opposed to Trinidad, DLH, 135, 140 while Hopkins started his career, 177 :patsch

This alone tells me you know very little to do with Hopkins' career. He was wildly out of fighting shape in his first fight, and that is not an indication of his healthy fighting size. Nice try at painting him as some goliath.
