Looks like there's gonna be a re-match, and I'm putting my money on Jermain Taylor. Truth is, even though he lost fair and square, I think Jermain is the more skilled fighter and his superior skills will come through in the next fight.

I saw it in the first one, after the 2nd round Taylor thought he had his man beat, but he took his foot off the gas, thinking it was gonna be easy, and let Pavlik into the fight. Kelly's a great fighter with big power, but hes slow and one dimensional compared to Taylor. Next time Taylor will be more aware, he'll learn from the loss and come back to win a wide UD. After the knockdown he went all negative and he shouldn't have done, because when he let his hands go he was much faster and was throwing smart combinations that Pavlik couldn't deal with. If he'd have kept that up he'd have won, and in the rematch he will win.

I also think jermain taylor can give Calzaghe a tougher fighter than Bernard Hopkins.

Pavlik wins the rematch. I don't see Jermain altering his style in any signficant way and a KO will be the inevitable result.
I also think Taylor's mindset will play a factor as well. It's tough mentally to come back from a devastating KO.

Lennox did it though, twice, and it made him a better fighter. remember that lennox and jermain share the same trainer...

I like Taylor, but for the good of his long term marketability he should have let the loss go, and moved up to 168. In the rematch I'll take Pavlik by TKO or KO in under 6 rounds for reasons I have stated clearly on many other threads. JT ought to fight Miranda, who he would beat 4 out of 5 times. That would put him right in the mix at 168, and maybe set up a good pay day with Calazaghe. After last nights fight I think Taylor's chances against Joe are far better than they will ever be against Pavlik.

It's certainly not impossible to come back after a KO loss. It's just that the odds are against him.
If Taylor can come back and beat Pavlik, I'll be very impressed. I just don't see it happening.

But, considering he almost had Pavlik gone in round 2, I'd be stupid to say I was 100% certain!

yeah shut your ****-recieving hole for just one moment and remember, I'm not American so you dont have to say "get the **** outa here dumbass" to make me feel more at home. Do you do that to all the american posters, or just the English ones you think are American coz they aren't joining in the online fellatio of Joe Calzaghe? I bet your the sorta guy who tries talking like 50 Cent every time he meets a black person.

Had Joe Calzaghe hadn't even been brought up until you joined in, and of course I'd mentioned Steward in ONE sentence, not even by name. Yet I'm the one nuthugging. Get Joe's pickled Italian testicles out of your mouth, this thread isn't even about him, if you wanna go and have a frotic homosexual masturbation orgy about Joe Calzaghe there's about a million other threads you can pollute with your effluent discharge, but please keep this thread pure and for its intended purposes only.

God bless the USA, yee-haw etc etc, regards from the the Wild Wild West (Yorkshire)

pavlik will win.he will be so confident when you ko someone once it is easier to think it will happen again. Therefore pavlik will be more confident than before the first fight, he will stop taylor and won't have to comeee from behind on points this time.
