According to the Youngstown Vindicator ( vindy.com) five- thousand tickets were sold in half an hour....WOW
Lets hope the Hopkins defeat hasnt gotten to Pavlik mentally. Im a fan of Pavlik but i knew Hopkins was a step to far to soon for Kelly. 5000 in 30 min though is v.good.
:good I splurged a little out of my comfort zone, so I kind of hope to see like a KO 7 or so, not KO 1.
He said 5,000 tickets were sold within 12 minutes of them going on sale. http://vindy.com/news/2009/jan/10/we-got-boxed-out-says-fan-amid-pavlik-ticket-frenz/ All $100 and down went VERY fast.
Pavlik should build a base of fan support around home down by fighting guys like Rubio, Zibk and Giovanni Lorenzo in between big fights with Abraham and Strum in Vagas.:hat
Ummm..... I don't think home town support is a problem for him. But for the fights HBO doesn't want? Why not.
Herm, did you brave that crowd, or were you logged in to ticket master ready to fire? If you were in that the article described, hats off to you sir! That's awesome. Guarantee, this will light the fires under Pavlik's ass too, to see how loyal his fans are to him still for taking a huge risk.
8 inches of snow and I hate crowds. I knew the ticket line would be a major risk of shutout unless I was way up in line. I wonder if people assumed they had a separate ticket pool? Doesn't sound like it.
I'm sure Top Rank will be taking note of this. May not be Youngstown though with the tickets burning like a forest fire. Cleveland, Columbus, or some other BIG venue in Ohio though. What kind of facilities does Y-town State have? Their football field in summer, or basketball any bigger than the Chevy Center?
