I hope it's not gonna happen. Pavlik supposed to fight Duddy as a tune-up fight for Pavlik-Abraham... I hope this mismatch won't KO that one... Pavlik-Duddy's gonna be as exciting as a one-sided fight can be but it shouldn't KO a legitimate A-level fight...

After the Pavlik-Abraham, the winner could fight Duddy but 2 tune-ups for Pavlik in 2008 is too much...

I would be alot, but I think that's what Pavlik is looking for. He wanted to get 4 fights out of 2008, although having the fight as late as November makes it pretty much impossible to then schedule one for December (even January - considering it's Abraham). Have there been any talks with Abraham's camp about a possible unification? Also, is he one of Sauerland's fighters??

I think after scaling the mountain, so to speak, you would rather stay at the top and beat genuine contenders, instead of jokers like John Duddy.

He makes Ricky Hatton look like a defensive genius.

I understand that he worked bloody hard to win those belts, but face it, belts mean **** all these days, especially if you defend them against no hopers.

A move to 168 should be in order - given that making 160 is a struggle, I doubt power would be an issue at supermiddle.

This is BS. He was supposed to fight an 'EZ' defense this summer, AA gets his USA exposure on the undercard & then KP vs AA in the fall.

WFT are they doing to this guy?

Calm down...something good will work out for him in his next couple of fights.

Pavlik and Duddy will make a mint for each fighter. I can see why Pavlik would want to squeeze this easy payday in. Duddy's camp and Arum probably realize that it's only a matter of time before the Duddy illusion is completely shattered (almost happend last fight). Better to make a fortune while he can. I just hope he doesn't die in the process.

Besides Abraham personally stating that he banks on a televised under card on June 7 he also says that he will then have his next bout taking place in Germany in September. This is because his management telling him that a unifier vs.Pavlik isn't possible before early 2009...

Agreed. Why people are criticising this fight, I really don't know. It's a marketing dream that will sell BIG! Who dosen't want to see this fight?

Both fighters will entertain and both men will earn a good sum of money so everyone wins.

I don't know. This is going to be pretty painful to watch. Tyson-Spinks, Holmes-Marvis Frazier come to mind.

Well it's not gonna last long. Duddy's chin will not stand up to much punishment from Pavlik. It'll make for an entertaining bout for maybe 4 rounds at the most. The whole time i'll be cheering on Duddy, but he needs to make this his NEXT fight, because if he fights any sort of decent fighter next time out he will be beaten and he'll lose his chance at the title and the money that comes with it.
