    How will JC fighting Pavlik help him to achieve this. Your trying to say Pavlik p4p top ten for beating J.Taylor? Is that all it take to get in to your top ten p4p? Pavlik needs to prove him self and fight AA first who it could be argued is a bigger threat given that JC is well past his prime.

    He is in the Ring Magazine P4P top ten; simply as that. Calzaghe has never fought a ring magazine prime top ten fighter for all the 15 years plus he's been boxing. Considering he's elite...perhaps he should...

    Pavlik is now there for the taking, a real live opponent, and a win would add greatly to Joes resume rather then beating Jones which adds absolutely nothing.

    Why does JC need a pavlik at this stage. I agree in his prime he should have chased the tougher fights but he is over the hill now and Pavlik would gain nothing as everyone will say Pavlik ducked AA to fight a shot JC.

    Let a shot JC and RJJ have their exhibition fight and then retire so that the new blood can take over.

    Pavlik is more limited than Lacy but would now like to see this fight just to shut you lot the hell up. Calzaghe would win by 10 rounds.

    That may be the poster's point. Calzaghe has a chance to beat a top ten p4p fighter in his prime, which would assure his legacy as the best smw of all-time and an atg.

    i dont think this is the right time for pavlik to face calzaghe. he should get another fight in against a quality boxer and let calzaghe fight RJJ

    Exactly, it's not about whether Joe could beat him or not but the fact that this opportunity is there.

    For what ever reasons fights with other p4p top ten fighters in there prime didn't happen with Joe. This one clearly can and there is little reasoning for it not to.

    If Kesslers career stalls and Pavlik goes onto to make some noise, Calzaghes resume is going to look wafer thin.

    Prime RJJ fight didn't happen because of etc etc... Prime Hopkins didn't happen because of etc etc... etc etc...

    He has prime Pavlic available (not saying he's in those two brackets) for him to fight now.
