    Name's DECEBAL...:good

I'm like a brick wall in that I don't fall for the Dawson hype unnecessarily. Amsterdam has hypnotised everyone on this forum about him, I see...:patsch

Pavlik works very hard to hit 160 and has a big frame. His power will carry at 68 and possibly 75:yep

Did Cotto lose power when he moved up?

Way to change throw in the towel on the subject of Dawson's natural weightclass.

So we have established that he is (at least) a natural Lightheavy.

Now you believe he was ducking Calzaghe and Kessler. That makes very little sense, considering he was on the Lacy bill and calling Calzaghe out, and the fact that a robotic fighter like Kessler is taylor-made for a slickster like Dawson. :huh

What makes the notion that he was chasing weak competition even more absurd is the fact that he chose the strongest of the LHW champions to go after: not 41 year old Branco, not below average Woods, not Erdei, but a prime Adamek, who not many knew was having weight problems until the Dawson bout was signed.

Yes, clearly he was ducking good opposition.

Decebal, trolling is not your forte. :tong

Kessler beats Dawson. Calzaghe wouldn't fight him anyway. Adamek wasn't as good as Kessler would have been or as difficult an opponent as Calzahe would have been, in Wales. He is not a natural LHW if he has to build up before a fight, time after time. He is a natural SMW!

As I said, trolling is not your forte.

You are not responding to the argument in a rational way; you simply re-state your opinion to counter hard facts.

Opinion: Dawson is ducking tough competition.
Fact: Dawson chose the best of the LHW champs to fight.

Opionion: Dawson is not a natural LHW.
Fact: Dawson and his team have been quoted as saying he left 168 because his body naturally filled out, and that he is far stronger at 175.

Adamek was an easier fight than Kessler or Calzaghe would have been. FACT.

Dawson's team said that Dawson comes in at 172 lbs into training camp, before building up and losing fat. FACT. Bute, Kessler, Calzaghe come into training camp at 184-190 lbs and they fight at SMW.

    :hi:

    Opinion.

Kessler is the easiest fight for Dawson (in my opinion).

Doesn't mean he can comfortably make 168. Toney made 168 against Jones, Adamek made 175 against Dawson, but it was not the ideal weightclass for either guy at that stage of their career.

Dawson stays in shape between fights, ala Mayweather and Hopkins. He doesn't feast on Danish bacon for 6 months. :good

I'd go with Chad Dawson by UD. His speed would be a big factor in the fight and would catch Pavlik many times due to Pavlik's style. I see this being a good, close fight though because Dawson likes to slug it out too much for his own good at times and did that way too much in his fight against Glen Johnson. I think this is partly do to Dawson and Mayweather Sr. splitting up just a couple of months ago. I noticed when he was with Floyd Sr., he tended to use his boxing skills a lot more and was better defensively because of that, but in the fight against Johnson, the boxing wasn't there as much and decided to become a brawler for most of the fight.

I'd very much like to know what the following posters think: northend, dangerousity, KobeIsGod, iceman, bulakenyo, the underdog, oblate

Who would win this fight at 168 lbs if Pavlik had at least 6 months to build up to the weight?

    :thumbsup
