Dawson by early stoppage. Maybe the 3rd round or so. Pavliks defense is not great and Dawsons speed would give him fits. Probably a similar enough fight to Haye-Macca.

I know I still haven't weighed in on this, but that statement was absurd.

I was surprised particularly because the poster in case is a very sensible poster.

Indeed, the two best pickers on ESB and at least five of the top ten* are picking Pavlik. Only one of the best ten pickers on ESB is picking Dawson so far.

Of course, this proves nothing; Dawson might still win quite easily; perhaps those of us picking Pavlik have got it really wrong! What it does prove, though, is that those picking Pavlik shouldn't let themselves be bullied by anyone picking Dawson, especially not by those overrated posters with a big mouth who think they know it all. It's not obvious Pavlik gets destroyed by Dawson at all. The outcome of this fight is very much up for debate!

So...back to the matter at hand. Any other arguments for one side or the other? Thanks!

Personally I like both fighters very much, and it did hurt my feelings seeing Chad all over ***** street against Johnson. But I try not to let that one fight change my opinion of him. I still believe he's one of our stars that is just getting going.

Under the stipulations you laid out, 168 and with 6 months to properly prepare, the outcome of this fight is indeed very debateable. Not sure how strong a case could be made for Pavlik if he had to go all the way to 175 in a single bound, and fight a champion who's used to the division. But hell, BHop did it, so who knows.

The predictions league isn't a good indication of who the top pickers are on this forum, especially after just 3 months and very few fights (and especially after a certain Filipino fighter robbed a certain Mexican fighter of a win and those who picked him got a huge boost while the ones that didn't lost 50-60 points ).

Do you want to secure a 1 year avatar bet on this right now for the fight (maybe if it happens in the next 2 years)?

It's completely obvious that Pavlik gets destroyed by Dawson and I certainly don't think I know it all, I rate myself a 5 for christ sakes.
