let's summarise this for you. pavlik - suspect chin, leaky defence, big power g-man - good chin, leaky defence, ATG power. get the picture? mclellan leaves pavlik a bloody broken mess, benn beats him even worse. pavlik has a lot of good materials, but from what we've seen so far, he couldn't survive with guys who hit this hard.
By stating their opinion you consider them haters. atsch You Pavlik fanboys are becoming more and more pathetic
McClellan is pretty much the ultimate fantasy fighter. He looked nearly unstoppable in most of his fights and also looked very tough in his famous loss to Benn. Which causes people to overrate him. He couldn't stop everyone despite the fact that we imagine he could. He hit like a truck but he couldn't put Benn away. If they never fought and we were talking about it now I guarantee that EVERYONE would pick McClellan and by early stoppage. But it didn't happen. He couldn't beat him. Could Pavlik beat him? I have no idea. We've seen Pavlik fight in some wars already. He hits with good power himself and can stand up to bombs. Anything could happen.
I'm not discrediting G-Man by looking at his bad performances and whatnot. I didn't say anything about his bad performances. I think he was a very good fighter, but gets overrated due to the tragedy. His accomplishments don't warrant the high praise he tends to get. He beat ONE world class middleweight in his career, one who was considerably smaller and suffered a detached retina, and people are saying he's way beyond Kelly Pavlik and on another level. I don't have a problem with people saying McClellan wins, but acting like Pavlik is on a way lower level is off-base. The "what could have been" fighters tend to get overrated.
Oh dear. I suggest you learn a scrap of boxing knowledge before coming out with ''who the **** is Gerald McClellan'' He is an ATG at middleweight, knocking out John Mugabi, and Julian Jackson, he is one of the hardest punchers ever p4p, and seemed invincible until he ran into Nigel Benn. You can find out about him and their fight yourself.
Thank You Cookie. This is a much more reasonable post than most of the other crap on this thread. Pavlik is 32-0-0 with 29 KO's, He has taken his share of zeros away from others, he's KO'ed a **** load of guys who had never been knocked out before. He's knocked out fighters Taylor ducked. His KO ratio is over 90%. He has never had to go ten rounds. He's only 25 years old, he vacated the NABF title in order to go after the world title. Had to fight a DOUBLE elmination against two #1 contenders, knocked them both out, and then knocked out an undefeated champ who beat BHop twice! I have absolutely no clue how people can taken an objective look at Pavlik, and then decide that everyone from godzilla to mickey ****ing mouse beats him, but it happens on this forum all the time. Boo
Nearly every post you make involves Kelly Pavlik in some sort of way. He's only JUST become the Middlweight champion, and he done that by beating Jermain ****ing Taylor who at best is a B-level fighter. An objective look at Pavlik is looking at his good and bad points together. Good points: Big power Quick for a big puncher Straight and accurate Good heart and determination Bad points: Shaky chin Leaky defence Doesnt move well No matter how much you like Pavlik, at present he wouldnt last with people like Joe Calzaghe or peak Gerald Mcllelan.
Everytime I read one of your posts I get a mental image of a ten year old kid on the short bus wearing a hockey helmet and a drool bib! An undefeated world champion has a "shaky chin." Quit huffin' gas, and maybe your brain will start working.:nut Calzaghe has nothing in his arsenal to Keep Pavlik off of him, and HE KNOWS IT. That's probably why he went after BHop AFTER he called Kelly out, and I think you know that, but aren't man enough to admit it.:dead As for posts about Pavlik: Hey ******, did you notice that this whole ****ing thread is about Pavlik?:yep
where did the idea of Pavlik having a "shaky chin" come from? let's see...almost all of his major fights are slugfests ending in KO's. Yet, before the Taylor fight, he had never really been hurt (Zuniga knocked him down in Round 1, but that was just a clean shot that knocked him off balance). Miranda landed a number of bombs against him, without Pavlik showing any effect. Against Taylor, he took at LEAST five flush power shots in a row from a big, hard-punching middleweight champ (including a couple that he foolishly invited through dropping his guard), and got up at the count of two, not to be knocked down again. If anything, he has a superior (and highly tested) chin. Shaky defense maybe, but that has more to do with his all-offense style. And its been working pretty well for him so far. By the way, what were the two fights that G-Man lost before the Benn fight?
