The "Judges" had Pavlik down big time at the time of the stoppage, just like they did in Taylor 1. Got to remember too before that broadcast got rolling, HBO showed a 15 minute documentary on Miranda's life story, then just showed Pavlik jog into the ring. LOL. Pav was never meant to win those fights.
You do realize this is boxing don't you? This is a sport where some people are out there to hurt you. They don't enter the ring and try to play games, they get straight to the point. They don't got time to hang around one place because time is running short, know what I'm sayin? Joe Frazier said, "It's a hurtin sport."
The Pressers were a joke too. It was all about Miranda and Taylor. Pavlik being humble and not so "loud" just sat there and laughed at them. Pav was meant to be cannon fodder, but he didn't get the right script.
you serious? I rememeber watching that and it was obvious to me from round 1 that Pavlik was going to steamroll Miranda. Didn't Pavlik have 3 knockdowns? I remember when Miranda got knocked down at the end of the round he clearly wanted the referee to stop the fight but he did not. If those judges had Pavlik behind at the time of the stoppage they need to be stripped of their license.
It would be nice to think that if you're goin' to start another Pavlik thread today, it will be full of praises for the young undefeated fighter.:bbb
I won't start a new thread I'll say it right here. After watching that short video it's obvious Pavlik has got good power, a high workrate and one hell of a chin. If I had to criticise him I'd say JT was outboxing him pretty well in the first half of their rematch. Like I said I've only seen 3 of his fights so I haven't got a solid opinion on him.
Miranda never won a single round. Pavlik forced the feared slugger into a war of attrition, and beat his ass unmercifully. And, it's true that Miranda was the one who was being groomed as a star. I guess Kelly and Jack never got the memo!
