Mundine is full of ****. The first clue is that it's Mundine talking. The second clue is that Munidne referred to HBO as "the network he's with." Pavlik isn't contracted to ANY TV network.

Wow. I wonder would HBO stoop to a WWE type plot to shill this one...

Might as well just bring the Iron Sheik out of retirement.

Mundine doesn't look to have any power at 160. Very bad thing when facing Pavlik.

Pavlik, AA, Sturm, Sylvester, Gevor would all beat Mundine...Pavlik would punish him, AA would knock him out Gevor/Ayala style.

I think Pavlik would beat Mundine...Mundine can box and he can counter too but Kelly by TKO..I think Anthony is a a lil past his prime and won't be able to go like he used to be able to..

HBO selected Gary Lockett for Pavlik's first defence from a shortlist of possibles, they showd Pavlik v Hopkins and were given first refusal (and refused) on Pavlik v Rubio.

Even if there's no formal contract, it's hardly a wildly inaccurate statement.

Mundine is out of his mind and as usual just flapping his lips before thinking.

He's on the outside and just finally realized it.

I hate to be harsh, but Mundine vacated cuz he knew he would lose to Kessler and going to MW is a way of milking his career for a little more. I can't say I blame him, but he isn't going to be #1 at MW anymore than he was going to be #1 at SMW. Vacating, and I'm sure he was promised a shot at Sturm when he did, got him a year extenstion. Kessler wasn't going to wait a year for a fight. Sturm, yeah, he'll be happy to wait. He has a better chance of beating Sturm anyhow. IF he beats Sturm, he can rest on that till retirement and thwart unification in much the same way Sturm did.

The statement Mundine made about HBO was not completely off the wall, but I think it does show that the man is on the outside looking in.

I think my comment about Mundine being on the outside looking in is valid. Here's why:

    Winky/Williams is in April.

Pavlik/Mora and Abraham/Lorenzo are both scheduled for summer.

Pavlik/Abraham is on the dockett for November.

Sturm has until November 1st to schedule a fight with Mundine.

Karmazin holds the NABF title and that means he'll fight an eliminator sometime soon, and the winner will be KP's next mando.

This is boxing, and anything can happen, but the most likely scenario will be Pavlik/Mora, Pavlik/Abraham, Pavlik/Mando, Pavlik against the winner of Winky/Williams. That means the soonest Mundine could get a shot would be late summer or fall of 2010, and I doubt even that would happen unless Mundine fights and beats Sturm. If Anthony does not know this, he is definitely on the outside looking in.
