Tell me about it. Honestly though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Arum put pavlik in with Rubio and then, put Pavlik in with Duddy in march.
Rubio will pose no threat to Pavlik. IMO I watched him fight tonight & he has almost zero defense. he can stick, but I just don't see him have enough.
Maybe Abraham goes: 6-21 Miranda November: De la Hoya? His name has been thrown around AND he needs an opponent. It would give Abraham HUGE exposure here AND if he happened to KO ODLH, there would be overwhelming demand for Pavlik v. Abraham. If all the stars allign, a big PAVLIK v. ABRAHAM unification in the summer of next year?
Yeah it should be action packed and crowd pleasing but its nothing to get excited about. Pavlik vs Abraham is Pavlik vs Calzaghe is Abraham is coming, he has Miranda and probably his mandatory so Id like to happen after all this ****. But who is Joe going to fight that means Pavlik chose?
The "official" Top Rank plan has always been for Pavlik to get his mandatories out of the way, Lockett then Rubio, and fight Abraham in January 2009. If Miranda beats Abraham that could change things, or if a Calzaghe fight can get done. I even read one article that said Rubio in September and Joe in November is possible.
People that post here with ears in the camp seem to think it is Pavlik/Calzaghe. IF Rubio is signed, and that is a big IF, there could still be an out for the Cal fight or Arum is looking at 'filler' until that fight happens. Let it play out. Have you heard ANY news of Jones/Calzaghe?
