It`s an error to think that Abraham could be impressed by a fanatic Pavlik crowd, or the fact that he is the underdog in this fight.
I´d say, this scenario would rather spur him and especially being the underdog would incite him even more to give his best there.
Regardless the plan and the skills of Pavlik I think, he will change his tactic in opposite to other fights. He will try to get close to Pavlik from the very beginning, be much more offensive, and impress him early in the fight. If he`s under the impression, that he rules the fight, and Pavlik can not really hurt him, he´ll go back and box his usuall style. If he`s in a good shape he might surprise Pavlik and give him trouble very early. If that doesn´t work, this will be the turning point in the fight. Old story, but true :
Normally he has no chance to win on points, because of lower workrate, so he definitely will try to close the show in time. Under that pressure he could be destroyed by Pavlik.

Too tough -- too strong -- hits to to hard; that's what the majority said about Edison, and we know what happened there. Kelly said "he can't fight going backwards. I'm gonna back him all night." Jim Lampley laughed when KP said that.

When we look at a fighter's resume', we're not speculating. We're looking at precisely what that fighter has, and has not, done IN THE RING. The common theme that if you take Taylor and Hopkins away from Kelly, his resume is no better that Arthur's is ficticious. The 2005 version of Zuniga, the 2006 version of McKart, and the 2007 version of Zertuche would beat most of the guys Arthur has fought over the last few years. Lujaun Simon provides the perfect example. That guy had been living off McKart's left overs.

Pavlik has consistently been in with better fighters than Abraham has been in with. It is also clear from the resume that AA has never been in with anyone who even lives in the same universe with Pavlik. Arthur's best win was Edison Miranda. In a fair world Edsion won the first fight by TKO. All totaled, it took Arthur 16 rounds, the help of a ringside doctor, and a ****ed up ref, to beat Miranda convincingly. We know what Kelly did.

Styles, skills, and physical attributes make fights. Arthur's only advantage is concussive punching power. If Arthur had fast - well educated - feet, a good -fast- jab, good head movement, and clever lateral movement, we'd have a fight on our hands. The resume' says that's what it takes to trouble KP. Arthur has none of those things. AA is a short power puncher who goes to the ropes when under pressure. Pavlik is a pressure fighter who destroys short power punchers, and the ropes is where his victims go to die.

Your argument is not good one here.
Miranda defense was horrible for this fight. Pavlik was able to hit Miranda at will and hurt him. Abraham is hard to hit and has a rock solid chin. He will let Kelly do his work and when the opportunity is available he will strike hard. I dont see Kelly taking his power shots.

Boo, Miranda is a heavier puncher and Abraham had no problems taking those shots...plus in the rematch AA showed good, economic footwork.

And your opinion that letting Hopkins and Taylor aside, Pavlik's resume still be superior to AA is just ridiculous...

Zuniga is on par with Gevor
McKart is on par with Marquez
Rubio got laid out in 1 vs. Jantuah
    Miranda profited on AA's style...

Fact is, not only Abraham will have to face off vs. a style of fighter, he's never seen before but Pavlik will also have a man in front of him whose style he's never dealt with before... :deal

There is nobody on Pav's resume that is better than AA either except Hop. J.T runs out of energy, and he can't stand flat footed and fight. If AA puts PAv down like J.T did, fight over...just like that lol.

Tom, Brad is a worthless poster because when I get under his skin, he posts to get under yours lol. Every answers from him is a pointless outlook on their history, and it is comical to read. I post why AA will win, Brad posts how AA ducked Zuniga, and how many guys went this many rounds with AA, and if Simon took 4 rounds from AA, what do you think Pav will do answers lol. Brad did the same thing before ith Hop when Hop beat Pav's ass lol...

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not talking about a simple triangulation of common opponents. I'm talking about the skill levels we can see by looking at both guys opponents since late 2005. Other than Miranda, Arthur has not fought anyone significantly better than a shot to **** McKart. Pavlik surpassed that level in October 2005. Arthur just fought a guy who was literally living off McKart's left overs. Marquez, his opponent before that, had a recent draw with McKart. His next opponent is the guy Marquez beat. The point I am making is that Arthur has a reputation he hasn't really earned. Yes, he has racked up a bunch of highlight reel KO's, but so did Victor freaking Oganov.

LuJaun Simon was ranked #43 in the world. He finished on his feet, and won 4 rounds in the process. Trust me, Simon is not the undiscovered jewell of Philidelphia. He's a feather fisted club fighter with a mediocre jab, a good chin, and a fairly high work rate. On several occasions he split Arthur's guard and snapped his head back with jabs. What do you think is going to happen when Pavlik starts throwing that jack hammer jab of his?
