In my opinion this business about "fighting to the level of his opposition" is not a valid argument, because it is not the mark of a champion. Did Pavlik fight at Rubio's level? No, he bitched slapped him into submission and made him cry on his stool. Did Pavlik fight down to Lockett's level? No, he made an opponent who had never been stopped take 3 knees in 3 rounds. I trust you can see my point.

Arthur cannot fight at Pavlik's level because he is simply not good enough. If AA had lots of speed, a great jab, and really good bi-directional lateral movement, I'd be singing a different tune, but Arthur has none of those things.

You simply don't know before their are going to face off.
Every boxer is different in the way he fights and both Pavlik and AA are no different.

Styles make fights...one or the other as we beg to differ... :yep

There are a few things I think we CAN agree on Tom.

    1) If Arthur performs like he did against LauJaun Simon, it's over in 5 rounds or less.

    2) Now is the time for Arthur to start dealing with his weight issues. He has over 6 months to revamp his nutrition and his training. If he fails to do that, he's going to take a beating.

wooooooo, this a great match up with KOs written all over it
think that Abraham will take a huge beating but will come through and land some crazy shot to put Pavlik on his ass...will be an interesting fight

abraham will be able to land something early, and he hits harder than JT. if JT can almost ko pavlik, then abraham will definitely take him out.

itll either be an exciting ko for arthur or a boring decision for pavlik, since i doubt pavlik will be able to ko him.

Well, it may go beyond that. Oscar got to 147 very early for his fight with Pac and he still looked like crap. I'm just not sure AA has it in him to fight at 160 anymore.

If true it redeems the joke of the Pavlik-Mora fight in June. These are my two favorite middleweights but - for once - the American will beat the European.
