And yet he finished Miranda a lot sooner that Pavlik with exactly ONE punch (short right hook did all the damage) instead of throwing a sick amount to break Pantera down. In fact... he finished Miranda this time without controversy or the 'help' of the judges. If that's not improvement proven by hard facts... what it?

It's ok to say Taylor has fought better guys and that Taylor is a better boxer than Abraham. But what's not ok is to compare a Taylor-Pavlik fight with a Abraham-Pavlik fight. Pav can win this (of course he can). But if he makes one mistake the fight is over. Yes, I know Pav is also a guy who can take a punch, but I'm convinced he can't take Abraham's. If AA hits him with a right the fight is over. Simple as that.

Pavlik is pretty damn good at controling and judging distance. THAT is going to be critical.

PAVLIK vs. ABRAHAM on 24 January 2009!

That's a very early date of course, but German promoter Wilfried Sauerland named that in a confidential interview (you can find it on YouTube). January 24 is the date HBO would like to see while Showtime, interested in the MW WAR as well would both go with a January of February date.

Of course both fighters have to win their interim fights first, Pavlik in the US probably vs. Mora in September, and Abraham vs. mandatory challenger Marquez on 4 of October in Germany. But it looks like the big fight is coming up right after that!

You know what? I enjoyed reading your post, cause it didnt start with XXX is overrated or XXX will ko this f*cking bum...both are great middleweights. It is beyond me why some people dont show both respect. Abraham will come to america to fight the best middleweight. He knows very well that he will have to pull out a miracle performance to beat a p4p fighter like Pavlik. Respect to both, cause in this case, fighting fans dont have to speculate who would win if they meet, no, this time the fight will materialize. I wish Jones would have had the balls in his prime to do such risky things like fighting Calzaghe or Michalchewski (or the other way around). Fortunately Kelly and Abraham are another breed. They put in on the line and give fans what they ask for.

HBO gave Arum the date for this fight months ago. He wanted it earlier, but HBO had the say. I keep trying to tell people that want the fight to happen NOW what is going on, but it doesn't seem to help....

In the boxingconfidential-interview Sauerland says the fight belongs to Las Vegas or New York. Arum seems to prefer Cleveland.

I think they wanted Cleveland for the fight BEFORE this.

I think this fight should take place in Las Vegas.. It won't be on Pavlik's home turf and it'll get Abraham a lot more exposure..

What the heck are you talking about? Both of these guys (KP and AA) are "white". Pavlik is judged by the results in fights against the best out there, black, white and whatever. He brutally beat down Miranda. He handed a devastating KO to Taylor, who had beaten Hopkins twice. There's no way he's overrated unless you can think of someone who can beat him easily at middleweight. If he loses a close war to AA, that wouldn't mean he was overrated.

And what world record are you talking about? Do they have an Ivan Drago machine set up in Germany? AA is really good but punches very wide. Let's see what happens. Has every fighter used this machine?

Pavlik by UD. Cannot see Abraham being knocked out, but can see him being outboxed.
