I'll take a 1-month-off-ESB bet that Abraham won't get KOed by Pavlik...

son if that fight goes down ... then its official between me and you ... that guy couldn't help Oktay Urkal against Cotto what makes you think he'll do anything against Pavlik ...

DQ do count as well if we are to bet ...

It's a hard fight to call..... both are are hard punchers. Pavlik's defence is a bit weaker, but he is also more active and Abraham has a habit to take the first two minutes of a round off. Right now i slightly edge towards Abraham by knockout..... the way Taylor (a lesser puncher) had him down and nearly out bodes bad news, but it can easily go the other way.

I can't see Abraham winning cause he spends too much time on the ropes. He'll just get ko:rofl

Which is nearly all Pavlik has going for him. So what happens when a KO puncher can't outbox the other, and fails to KO the other?

PS I don't bet with money, even if I have a very good record at predicting fights.

how bout the way Miranda (a lesser everything) had Abraham running for his life, then to the hospital to have his mouth wired shut

Pavlik is a better boxer than Abraham; better jab and straighter punches. Abraham is better defensively, but is so inactive and goes into a shell for 2 minutes a round. He wouldn't outbox Pavlik who throws 80-100 punches a round and maintains an active jab from a distance.

The only concern in this fight is Pavlik's chin. I don't think it's shaky, but Abraham has the power to crack it.

I think Pavlik is better than Abraham but he can be out boxed.
If I were going to make a pick i would go with Pavlik by lat round ko or decision 7 rounds to 5.

Agree with Abraham assessment but personally in rematches Miranda would beat both Abraham and Pavlik at SMW.

It was a lucky punch, Abraham was careless for a moment and got caught with his mouth open and broke his jaw, it wasn't even that hard of a punch that did the damage but sometimes these things happen. You do realise that the fight would have been totally different if AA hadn't broken his jaw this early? If so I wonder why people make any assumptions based on that, it's not like he'll break his jaw in every fight. Pavlik a a decent puncher but doesn't have that one punch power AA does. I think it's pretty unlikely that Pavlik can knock AA out, his chin and defence are good, most of the punches are blocked. Pavlik can easily win a decision with his work rate but all AA needs is one punch, that's a given.

so was the one that busted up the dude in my avy. had vitali not been caught in the 3rd, he probably outpoints lennox. fact is, lennox tko 6 and miranda was his best opponent and he lost the fight imo.

i see pavlik cutting down the King for a couple of reasons. AA throws wide punches. pavlik throws straight and accurate shots, which will land first and more frequently.

secondly, pavlik's workrate will drown out AA's work. i dont think he has that one punch ko power to stop pavlik either. it's one thing to ko bums, it's another to do it against top flight competition. see the Goat Herder for reference. he was the savior of the hw division based on what, his ko of jeremy williams :rofl

Funny thing, a european fighter fights a bum and knocks him out, then all of a sudden he is a great fighter. An American knocks out a TOP guy then the undisputed middleweight champ and he is over rated??

Thats right I said Undisputed cuz AA is walking around with Pavliks belt.

Keep in mind that top guy that I spoke of before is Mr Miranda a guy that should have beat AA, and without some of the funny business in Germany he would have...Funny thing about Funny business and Germany....It seems like it always happens.
