5% would mean each guy has to be 168. I think that would favor Kelly. Keep in mind, I still think if you fight for a title at 160 you should weigh 160 when you fight. I'd like to know AA's weight at fight time though.

At some point AA will know he needs the KO and get wild, just like he does when he gets a guy hurt. Unless he decides to box more early. The only recent fight I saw him do that was Marquez, but he knew early Marquez couldn't hurt him. I've seen him go to the ropes and lay against guys with less power than Kelly. I have never seen AA brawl though.

I really don't care about the ABC crap. If Pavlik unifies we will see nothing but a steady stream of crap mandatories for him with no time for any other fights.

Pavlik would beat AA...I hope this fight comes off late this year or early next year...!! Kelly would shut the British fans up..Than they'd be talkin Sturm could beat him...

Sturm would have a much better chance than AA!

Why are you so into the weight thing BTW? Wait, are you worried that AA might outweigh Pavlik, what Kelly usually does vs. his opponents?

But don't worry, I think both would come in at about 171 (thx Tom for the info), so neither would have the usual weight advantage. And Kelly would still have the reach advantage. So I don't think this 5% thing would change anything, it would affect both fighters. At least if they are killing themselves to make 160 successfully, let them rehydrate. You don't want a weak Pavlik fighting a weak Abraham.

In a fight of this magnitude, you play ALL the angles. My guess is that if he is having trouble making 160 now, he rehydrates up to more now. Like I said. If it were up to me, they would step in at 160. Excuse me. Neither can fight at that weight. Make it 168. :D

Here's an interesting interview, confirming what Tom said days ago, that Abraham will probably return to the US after his March 14 fight vs. Philly Lajuan Simon.

Far more interesting was an interview he gave German website sportal.de, regarding to making weight he said:

I've still to lose about 11 lbs...How I'm doing it: You have to train, sweat alot. I lose about 4.5 lbs per session. Then I'm eating up 3 lbs to gain back energy. (Arthur's weight 101) I'm doing this twice a day leading up to a weigh-in. So, at the bottom line, I lose about 3 lbs every day. Then on friday I'm at exactly on weight.

Some other statements of that interview:

about preparation and strategy:"In the end, (strategical) preparations don't matter. When you've stepped into the ring and feel your opponents pressure, you have, as my coach would say, enforce your style of boxing over the whole fight. And that's what I'm doing. My opponent (Simon) has to make up his mind how to fight me, not the other way around. Altough, I'm planning my start into a bout - for example, how and when I'm going to strike for the first time."
    ...
"Well, he's (Simon) about 6'1 so I'll try to go alot to his mid-section to force him lowering his guard."
    ...
"Simon's straight punches are his best weapon and he also has a good balance."
    ...
About UFC and if he could imagine to have gotten into this sport if not for boxing:
"Oh no, don't like it. IMO it's just a crude street brawl without alot of rules. That's no poetry in motion, just brutal."
    ...
About boxing world-wide and his interest/following of other weight classes:
"I pursue everything that has to do with boxing. You are always, like in real life, in kinda learning process. So it's naturally to watch other people's fights to be up-to-date. Still, what others are doing in the ring is good, but the most important is to concentrate on themself."
    ...
He also said that his favourite style is prime Mike Tyson's and his p4p no.1 is PBF...
