PAVLIK vs. ABRAHAM pushed back yet again, most likely off

I see this fight as Pavlik by KO (35%), Pavlik by decision (25%), Abraham by KO (39%), Abraham by decision (1%). Abraham has more than enough 1 punch power to hurt Pavlik badly and stop him. Will he land something big during the fight? Probably. Will he hurt Pavlik when he does? Probably. But the question is if he will be able to finish him after he hurts him. He has a great chance, but I still favor Pavlik because of his great physicial advantages, better boxing skills, toughness, and much better punch output. Abraham doesn't punch often, but when he does explode he throws combinations very quickly with huge power. So, Pavlik should do his usual routine of using his jab and working his opponent down with a high output of power shots, but when Abraham explodes he needs to forget about offense and fight extremely safe until the storm ends. I think this fight will be a late round stoppage or wide decision victory for Pavlik after Abraham gets tired, cut/swollen up, and broken down. Also, I think Pavlik will be hurt in this fight, but Abraham won't be able to finish him. Abraham's best bet would be to jump on Pavlik early, but I can see a KO win for him in any round.

This is a great matchup and the only fight at MW that matters. The best outcome for the division would be an Abraham win, because it would set up a rematch and maybe an eventual rubber match. If Pavlik beats Abraham, there will be nothing left for him to do at 160 except face the John Duddy's of the boxing world.

 

I would rather Pavlik keeps his undefeated streak going than lose it against someone the caliber of Abraham

 

Pavlik outworks Abraham to a wide UD. Abraham just isn't busy enough, but Pavlik won't be able to knock him out partly because Abraham has a great chin and partly because most of his punches will probably hit Abraham's gloves and shoulders with his turtle shell defense. Wouldn't be surprised if Pavlik gets rocked once or twice though in the process.

 

i think pavlik is too strong,he is an exellent finisher,and he can take a lot of punches himselves.Pavliks way of putting pressure,round after round,would wear king arthur down imo. he is incredible strong,and i dont think AA IS STRONG OR GOOD ENOUGH.

Get out of here with that **** as a comparison. Abraham is nothing like Taylor. Taylor can actually box, has way faster, hands, a much better jab, and throws straighter, more crisp combinations.

Abraham is a brawler with a high guard defense. People are just afraid to go to his body because he's such a hard hitter. Pavlik will get his range and KO him mid to late rounds.

 

You must be a good ass guesser because Abraham can't box worth a ****.

Nice post, I see it similar. I would say Abraham holds the toughness card though.

Crucial physical advantages go to Pavlik and the larger output could be the key.

Cant figure out why so many people think that Kelly will knock him out. And they are confidant about it too. Possible, but I realy see the fight going the distance if it ever happens.

 

Honestly, I don't know how Pavlik breaks Abraham's defence... and Arthur's left will destroy Pavlik as well... I did not like Abraham before but he is very very effective. One left hook and it is over.
