FFS - Abraham never got out of 1st gear against Marquez - do you think he will approach Pavlik the same way?:verysad
i hope this is signed, great start to the new year knowing we got haye v vitali, pac v hatton and pav v king a all lined up for starters. lets hope calzaghe makes one more fight this year and pbf fights marg:good
I've watched about 5 of Abraham's fights. Styles make fights, and Arthur is at a serious disadvantage against Pavlik. His low work rate and lazy style means he gets outworked and out hustled round after round. His short stature and stubby arms make his counter punching damn near impossible. His habit of going to the ropes or a corner when under pressure gets him beat to ****. He is clearly the second best middleweight in the world, but Pavlik/Abraham will demonstrate the difference between a world champion and a popular regional star very clearly. Pavlik in 8 or less, and the only reason I would give Arthur 8 rounds is because he has a head like a freaking rock.
This is a fight I really hope for next year, along with PBF-Margo, Kessler-Taylor, Hatton-Pacquiao and Marquez-Vasquez IV I won't hold my breath for all of them but would love any of them! I'd lean towards Abraham in this fight, but wouldn't be confident enough to bet on it.
I want to see Pavlik beat Abraham but it will be extremely difficult - you are underestimating Abraham
I've done many lengthy posts on Pavlik/Abraham. So has Tom Tocca. I'm sure that as fight time approaches we'll both get back into on a more serious level. We'll arrive at different conclusons, but I'm sure you'll find it all to be pretty fair.
Inevitable? It took him 11+ to find Alvin Ayala with it. He won't be nearly as fresh if he makes it into round 12 with Pavlik.
Arthur throws a lot of slow, looping, sloppy rights, but every once in a while he throws one that just coudn't get any better. Any one who is half way honest has to conceed the point that one of Arthur's near perfect rights is a potential game changer.
I find it comical that so many of AA's suporters hold Ayala up as "a slick boxer," and then declare that Arthur has trouble with slick boxers. Fulgencio Zuniga was the rightful mandatory, but somehow AA ended up fighting Elvyn Ayalaatsch
