Here's a short summary (about 6-7 min) of the fight: http://www.boxen.com/stream/abraham_vs_ikeke_10_12_2005/abraham_vs_ikeke_dsl.asf
You know what's funny when I watched this video today - Abraham missing with the right but hitting his opponent with a swing left hook in the same motion is one of his money shots for a long time...
Kels by KO or stoppage ... he's too skilled ... to compact with his punches ... he's too long and tall and he's very powerful. I don't think he would play the cat and mouse game that Abraham plays - Kels stalks him down, corners him, and makes him pay.
Alright I just watched it and I can say that AA is far more active in this fight than in the previous bouts with Miranda. He pops in to say hello gives Ikeke a beating, and then pops right back out of his range. Ikeke seams content to stay back and utliize his range more than I think Pavlik would, he also doesnt throw as many punches as Pavlik. When Ikeke does choose to be the aggressor, Abraham makes him pay and closes the show. I think to say the least, the Pavlik showdown will be explosive
Ikeke didn't know how to use his height advantage. He bends over at the waist down to AA's level. That means he has to raise his head up which means sticking out his chin. Pavlik stays upright and looks down, thus tucking his chin. Perfect example of what Manny Steward calls "fighting tall". Also AA doesn't seemed too bothered by the jab when Ikeke occasionally flicked it out there. Pavliks jab will be WAY STIFFER. Will be a good fight though.
If I was Pavlik's management, I'd jump on an Abraham fight while fans are hot-to-trot. No way Kelly loses with Abraham's earmuffs and limited legs. Forget his heavy hands; the first time Abraham backs to the ropes with earmuffs would be his last.
That is just terrible analysis. Why the hell would it be his last? Abraham is going to block all of those straight punches, most of the sting will be taken off any of them. Miranda teed off, he didn't even flinch on the ropes. Even if it does hit his chin, Abraham has never been hurt, even with a broken jaw, so there is no reason to suspect he'll suddenly get starched Watch fights.
good analyst but do you agree that Abraham have never been hit with a puncher ala Pavlik?( I do think that Pavlik's punch are more harder and cripser than Miranda wild punch)
Of course. Miranda's power is overrated, I mean its big, but only in one hand and one punch. He has a straight right, that is all, and he has to come forward for it to get leverage But even when he did that, it didn't bother Abraham or bring his guard down at all Pavlik will fight more sensibly than Miranda anyway. I don't think he'll run after Abraham like Miranda did with that wild ****. He'll jab then put combinations together. Maybe look for the body, bring the guard down. I don't think Pavlik will be hammering Abraham's gloves like Miranda, its a waste of time.
Well, half the people on this board think that having AA knock out Kelly is even better than having JC do it. :rofl Did I say half. I'm probably a tad low......:-(
