I've got to hand it to you, Tack. This is a very intriguing proposition. A heavy-handed but ponderous fighter with the only defense that makes Margarito look like Willie Pep and a guy who was cut to hell in his last middleweight bout that is a better boxer but "likes to fight". I favor Pavlik by a grueling decision victory but if either guy got stopped...I couldn't really be that surprised.
I really don't thnik Pavlik can stop Andrade, yes, he has the power, but he doesn't have the necessary speed to land on Andrade like Bute did...the key factor there, is that he didn't see the shots coming, Pavlik can't do that....And I see Andrade pressure taking the upperhand in th late round, so I'm gonna have to go with Librado by decision !!!
People don't understand that Pavlik is still a top fighter...he faced two mobile fighters....Andrade would try to stand with Kelly...Kelly thrives in this type of fight...one thing is for sure...a PRIME KELLY would certainly TKO a current ANdrade...even now, I'd be confident in saying Pavlik by late TKO or UD
People also don't understand that Andrade is a top fighter. Just because he doesn't rate as A+ in the skill department doesn't mean he isn't a fearsome fighter.
At 160, Pavlik by decision. At 168, I still think Pavlik is the better fighter, boxer, but it would even things out abit since 168 is Andrade's domain. If Pavlik boxes, he wins comfortably, if he goes toe to toe, he's more of a headhunter, is also easy to find himself, and I don't know how Pavlik would react to Andrade's bodypunching and heavy hands. I think a draw or a win in Andrade's favor would be the result against the current version of Kelly who's used to going forward and I'm not sure if he would outmuscle Andradewho also likes going forward.
Right now is 50/50, Andrade in his best day crushes Pavlik in my opinion. Too much power, stamina and a solid underrated chin.
When Pavlik had the title I wanted to see him use that 'advantage' and make a fighter come to him. I think that would have served him well in the Martinez fight.
I know, but after his KO loss to Bute and you can easily notice people picking him to lose KO. If he didn't lose that one by KO then you will hardly find enough "KO win" predictions for Pavlik. That's what makes it underrated today.
