"Other people recognize me as the undisputed middleweight champ, but I do want those other belts,” said Pavlik, who holds the WBO and WBC titles."

    Don't hold your breath.

I don't have problem on this fight happening . . . it's gonna be a very good action fight . . . but I'd rather see Pavlik unify all the belts at middle weight division first and become a unified undisputed Champ before anything else.

Four belts . . . 5 including the ring belt.

I want to see it but it has to happen in Pavlik's next fight or not at all.

Considering how bad Joe looked against Hopkins ( albeit against one of the sneakiest and most experienced fighters in a loooong time ) I dont think he should have anything to do with Pavlik.

The Joe from the Kessler fight can still beat Pavlik the Joe from the Hopkins fight , hmmmmmm I dunno .

It's the only fight out there for Calzaghe, in my opinion. But at the same time, Joe is currently operating at LHW, Pavlik at middle. It is not a fight that Pavlik needs. He has other legitimate options. I don't believe Joe has.

Personally, Jones/Calzaghe does nothing for me.

Realistically the only 2 fights out there for Calzaghe now are Pavlik and Jones and I'd rather see the Pavlik fight at 168.

No other fight will give him the payday he wants before he retires apart from maybe a Kessler rematch depending on how he does in his comeback fight.

    If Calzaghe defeats Jones Jr.....
Then a fight Vs. Pavlik will Blowup into "Superfight" status.
(Unless Joe decides to walk away after a possible Jones Jr. win)

Cause in all honesty, Calzaghe does not need to fight Pavlik.
Jones Jr. is the last of Joe's era, a win there would prob bring Joe's career to an end.
I can see him waling away after a high.

I'd be very surprised if Joe takes the fight. He cares about his "0" too much.

Basically, a Roid fight is a no win situation for Joe.

He beats Jones - "Jones was washed up and it does nothing for Calzaghe's legacy."

He loses to Roid - "Calzaghe is a fraud, he's been exposed, blah, blah, blah."

    I don't see an upside.

Joe wont fight Jones he states this in his autobiography. He sees himself getting no credit beating a 2-3-0 (last 5 fights) fighter. (now 3-3-0 since the publication).

I see your point but as Hatesrats said , Jones is the last of Calzaghes generation.

    Pavlik is the next generation.

Beat Jones and walk away !

Well it's a shame that he spent all those years fighting stiffs that now he doesn't have the time for Jones because he won't get no credit for it :patsch I think he should fight both Jones and Pavlik.

in 2006 calzaghe took a perceived 50/50 fight with lacy
in 2007 calzaghe took a perceived 50/50 fight with kessler
in 2008 calzaghe took a perceived 50/50 fight with hopkins.

he really has been going for the soft touch to protect his O.
