I don't think Calzaghe is scared to lose his 0. He has taken on some fairly decent guys and well he wupped them so effortlessly that they didn't even seem "decent". It's not Joe's fault that his opposition coming into a fight look like B+ fighters then come out looking like C- level fighters. Thats just testiment to how good Calzaghe is. In the end, I think Calzaghe might be able to put an asswupping on Pavlik. If he did, it would prove to everyone how superior he was to great fighters like kessler/calzaghe...Hell even Lacy looked to be very decent until he took 1200 punches to the head and was never the same ever again. In the end I don't think Calzaghe is afraid to lose his 0, he has more class than that. Ultimately I think he is getting a little tired of the sport of boxing, Theres a lot of stress that falls on these athletes shoulders the longer they've been in the game. Its not only the age of a fighter that causes the stress, its the continuted expectation of "greatness" that falls upon their shoulders that causes the stress and kills their motivation to continue fighting. This is exactly why Floyd Mayweather's heart isn't in the game anymore, because he doesn't seem like he wants to carry the everso increasing expectations of himself.

The RJJ fight is not a far gone conclusion. RJJ us still dangerous and has power and skills to trouble JC!

It's funny how this Jones fight is perceived. Many such as myself see it as a non-starter, I can't possibly see Roy Jones having any chance to win, yet others are adamant Roy Jones has a chance.

It's no Pavlik-Lockett thats for sure

Nice to see a Calzaghe fan who thinks rationally. It seems too many people are completely irrational when it comes to his place in history. I just want to see great fights and wherever a guys career ends up, we can judge him by his accomplishments later. I am a Pavlik fan and not what you call a "bandwagon fan" (I have been watching him well before anyone new who he was). I don't see Pavlik going undefeated in his career but I do see his resume being full of great fights and great fighters in their prime. This is why I am not a big fan of either Calzaghe or Mayweather. They seem very careful who their opponents are, when they fight them, where they fight, etc. They seem to avoid most of the biggest fights but proclaim themselves greater than they really are and their fans seem to march right behind them.

Is this actually Booradley's (even more) troll account or are you just stealing his posts now?

Putting 'this was posted from another thread' and then cutting and pasting someone else's post don't really cut it.

  6. All you people that think Calzaghe is scared of Pavlik are ignorant:-(he's beaten better fighters than Pavlik has:dealall the idiots thought Lacy would beat Pavlik, then foolishly thought Kesseler actually had a chance:lol:then thought Hopkins would wax him too:verysadit's always somebody, **** that, id rather see Pavlik fight Abraham after he whips Miranda, and see Roy Jones against Calzaghe, those are better matchups..
The CAlzaghe haters are always in denial..

Joe will have vacated the 168 belts by then. They haver commercial value. The fight with Pavlik will not be worth as much. Period.

joe would hammer pavlik around the ring.
but im just as, if not more excited of the talks that kessler wants to fight pavlik which would be a better fight to watch and will determine whether pavlik would stand a chance against joe.

Arum picked Warren up in a limo at the airport for the Lockett fight. You KNOW this fight was discussed. Arum is on record as saying this fight is his top priority. Money has to have been discussed by now. Maybe nothing in writing, but you know there have been at least tentative offers made.

The only time I picked against Calzaghe was when he fought Kessler. I figured he'd beat Lacy and I figured the BHops fight would be garbage with both guys wrestling too much.

Anyways it's irrelevant. To criticise his current decision is to be a hater or a nuthugger of someone else. A common yet nauseating theme on message boards everywhere.

Like it or not Pavlik is a P4P entry these days. And he is 8-10lbs shy of matching up to Calzaghe. There is no legitimate reason why this fight shouldn't be made.

So you're saying you don't know what those offers consist of, who made them, how much for, where and when to have the fight?

Bit different from your claims that Arum had made a 10 million pound offer.

In fact you don't know anything.

Arum and Warren may have discussed money, they may have agreed that the fight would be better left til a later date, they may have just talked flower arranging. You haven't got a clue, but just shout your mouth off anyway.

It is a published figure. You can dispute the source of the claim with them.

You're the one hawking it around, so I'll discuss it with you until such time as you have a reputable source for it.
