As I said in a thread months ago, Pavlik beats Joe by 11th round tko. Only other guy to beat Joe between 160-175 is Chad Dawson. We will never see the Dawson fight but now looks like there is a shot at Pavlik going to Wales late this year or early next.
I think that Tito will give Pavlik a run for his money and maybe even give Pavlik his first defeat if given the chance.
Tito would gets slaughtered against Pavlik, IMO. Pavlik doesn't have the power or skill to knock Joe out. If they fight, it'll be remarkably one-sided. Calzaghe excels when it comes to picking on a fighter's faults, and Pavlik has many of them. He is a good fighter, but no one can honestly deny that he isn't flat-footed, one-dimensional and quite clumsy.
Calzaghe by UD or by late stoppage. The only chance Pavlik has is if they manage to get Calzaghe to fight at 160,but I can't see that happening.:bbb
Calzaghe wins by UD. I don't think it would be an easy fight for Joe, there would be some relative scary moments for him, but I think on the score cards he would by a fair margin. Maybe 8 rounds to 4, or something like that.
Calzaghe would give Pavlik fits, constantly beating him to the punch, making him miss over and over again - this is just a bad match up for Pavlik.Calzaghe by comfortable UD,117-111 or better
Pavlik would need a year after leaving MW to truly put on the weight needed. Muscle that is. At a 166 catch weight he entered the ring at 169. That means he is watching weight between fights. I've asked before, but couldn't get an answer. Any one know the actual fight weight of Joe when he took on Kessler?
Calzaghe by UD. But Pavlik would make a better showing for himself then Kessler did. And if his constant pressure technique manages to tire Joe in the later rounds then he has a decent chance of an upset KO. ( Though I suspect that Calzaghe is too smart a fighter to let that happen )
