Just the right type of oponent and style to make joe Calzaghe look like a demi-God.

Calzaghe wide UD, in an entertaining fight.

Calzaghe wouldn't even have time to school him. It would be an early blowout.

Calzaghe would have a far easier time with Pavlik than he did with Kessler.

And seriously will people stop bringing up Dawson in these threads, he's so unproven. All i've seen from him so far is a leaky defence and shaky chin.

If he gets past Glen Johnson, who's a solid B-level fighter. Then we'll know more.

Pavlik works everything off the jab. Taylor had most success when he moved his head and slipped to his right, under the jab and Calzaghe, with his southpaw stance and superior footwork would be under that jab and landing right hooks on the button all night long. The only real question in my mind is whether Pavlik can absorb those punches all night, especially when he won't be landing enough for his accumulative power to take effect.

That said, I think Joe could beat Pavlik to the jab for 12 rounds and win a decision that way, if he wanted.

I can't see how Kelly can win to be honest, given that his main assets (work rate and power) are offset by Joe's own output and solid chin. In pretty much every other area you care to think off, he suffers badly in comparison.

Pavlik couldn't win this at any weight.
