Great card. Pavlik-Abraham will be huge down the line, but Lorenzo's a good fighter to get some US exposure with. Lorenzo and Duddy are in similar boats - limited but exciting, and with undefeated records due to fighting mostly mediocre opposition. Lorenzo is more of a threat than Duddy is, but not by a whole lot. Lets just put it this way - he couldn't KO Archak TerMeliksetian, the guy who Sergio Mora and Alfredo Angulo were both able to KO (although Mora's was arguably an early stoppage, but Angulo put him on Sesame Street).

Why is there all the excitement about Duddy, FFS he doesn't even fight 12 rounders!

    Is he that good?

He's just a big draw in NYC - a guy who brings the cash despite lacking world class skills...

    Sounds like Paulie!

Ardy - we don't have any decent middleweights really, Eastman is shot, Elcock was badly exposed in his title shot. Matthew Macklin is probably our best hope, if he can improve sufficiently with his new trainers.

I think you will find, when Macklin fights for the world title, he will be representing Ireland that night.

Now we are on the same page:good

I'm planing to attend the Duddy/Pavlik contest. If that fight hadn't been happening, I was going to Vegas to cheer on Calzaghe against Popkins.

Pavlik/Duddy will be a massacre; a 4-5 round one-sided beat down that leaves the true brutality of boxing written large across the face and career of John Duddy. Pavlik/Abraham is a fight that must happen if Kelly is to stay at 160. However, this fight is a stylistic nightmare for Abraham. He spends way to much time in the corners and on the ropes, and that is exactly where Kelly wants him. AA gets pavlikated in 6 rounds or less.

It's too bad it isn't Pavlik-Abraham with Lorenzo-Duddy on the undercard. Although Duddy would be a good comeback opponent should Pavlik lose a rematch to Taylor.
