The point is that it would set up a Pavlik-Abraham match in the future. Nobody in the US knows who the hell Abraham is except diehards. This would give him some stateside exposure. Not only that, but since Lorenzo is an exciting fighter (and Abraham usually isn't except for the last 30 seconds or so of any given round), it should pump up his profile more than if he was to fight a more technical boxer. There are questions about Lorenzo's chin, so Abraham should be able to finish him off by spectacular KO.

Fra - did you see Duddy-Campas? Yori Boy almost beat Duddy, and turned him into a bloody mess. If Yory Boy could hurt Duddy like that, imagine what someone who can actually punch and varies his offense a bit will be able to do. If you really think Duddy can win, put money on it, because you'll get great odds. The only way Duddy wins is if Pavlik injures himself. John Duddy is a poor man's Jose Luis Zertuche.

I know what the point is but we could find out more about Duddy and Lorenzo if they fought eachother. IMO they haven't really did much to deserve title shots. My point was that the winner would be deserving of a title shot.

Will this fight still happen if Pavlik loses to Taylor?

probably. the taylor rematch is slated at 166 lb's, without the MW title involved. but this proposed meeting with duddy is at 160 lb's with the MW title involved. but pavlik would probably settle for a trilogy with taylor in the event taylor wins.

Yeah and like I said if Pavlik gets upset by Taylor a Duddy match would be a good rebuilding fight but then again if he loses to Taylor it could be a little dangerous.

Glass Chin?:nono The Punches that have dazed Kelly in the past could daze just about anyone. Plus he always makes a fast recovery, After JT's beatdown on Pavlik in the 2nd, He got up at the 1 count. Plus did you see the Miranda fight? Pavlik took some sick right hands that have almost killed other boxers.

Your boy may actually die in this fight.....:!:

Shut the **** up, stick to watching Barrera-Fana . Embarassed of what, the fact that Abraham is fighting an undefeated Olympian as a tuneup for Pavlik. Think before you talk big.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Pavlik is a stylistic nightmare for Abraham.

Point 1) Pavlik stands just shy of 6 foot 3 inches, and he is a HUGE middleweight. He is basically a LHW who somehow manages to boil down to 160. It is not uncommon for Kelly to enter the ring at over 170 pounds. Abraham is 5 foot 10 inches, and looks like if he layed off the weights and hired a good nutritionist, he could easily make 154. If Arthur tries to negate Kelly's height and reach advantage by fighting inside, he will get out-muscled, pushed around, and beat up.

Point 2) Arthur fights in fits and spurts. He is normally only active for about 30-45 seconds of each round. Kelly spends every second of every round trying to decapitate his opponent, and a connect rate of 40-50% is fairly normal. Miranda hit AA with many viscious shots. Just imagine what Kelly is going to do.

Point 3) Kelly usually has a pretty simple fight plan: Use good fundamentals, sit down on every punch, throw good stiff jabs followed by monster right hands, back the opponent up against the ropes or into a corner, turn the ring into a ****ing phone booth, and then take the guys head off. Arthur spends about half or more of every freaking round against the ropes or in the corner! In other words, AA will VOLUNTEER for a trip to Pavlik's phone booth, and then the lights go out.
