A planned execution if there ever was one.Duddy will bravely go around six rounds, but his career will be kaput.I hope it isn't true.

Pavlik's promoter Bob Arum doesn't want the rematch immediately & I'm sure Manny calmed Taylor down & convinced him to take an ez fight before getting clobbered again by KP.

Not really crazy about KP fighting Duddy. Cause I like Duddy also & I hate to think of the damage Pavlik will inflict on him.

Oh well, it will be a learning (and painful) experience for John.

    (((((((((((((KP by KO)))))))))))))

    ...or TKO on cuts.

    Ouch!:!:

    This is gonna be painfull!
Duddy will do ok for the first couple of rounds but he'll just get battered by the 5th or 6th.

Pavlik has earned 1 or 2 easy entertaining fights before he fights Calzaghe, Hopkins, Kessler, or JT again.

I am a big fan of John Duddy too because of all action style, but feel this is time for him to take a shot at the champ, because of the way John cuts, I could see him losing to some club fighter before gets near a title if he waits to long.
By the way while I am a BIG fan of Pavlik's lets not make him out too be superman just because he won the title guys like Duddy, Lorenzo and Mora can give him tough fights those med level contenders are no push overs and I put on the level of Zertuche and Zuniga both of which give Kelly tough fights:deal

I give a lot of chances to John Duddy, as much as 55/45 to Pavlik, with the extra 5% being for Pavlik's slight edge in top class experience, kayoing Miranda and Taylor... Wouldn't be surprised if Duddy pull it off.

this is what is wrong with boxing. some of you make the statement that pavlik deserves an easy defense. do you realize that what you are actually saying is that an undeserving fighter gets a shot at a world title. there are just so many fights that can be made and these types of fights ultimately rob us theh fans of seeing the best possible fights.

I can't see anything other than Pavlik by KO. Duddy just hasn't faced anyone of his class before. Noe Tulio Gonzalez Alcoba would have been a good test. The late replacement Prince Arron has no KOs on his record and 2 defeats in 12 fights. Duddy should be able to stop him in 2 or 3 rounds.

I think it's a bad choice to fight Pavlik at this time but obviously the money may be too much to turn down. I'd like to see Duddy stay in Europe for a while and maybe have a crack at Sebastian Sylvester's EBU title in the near future.
