and who aside from Taylor and Miranda do you consider "special" on pav's resume?

you have to step up in class some time just as Pav stepped up against Miranda

people complain when a fighter doesnt step up in class and they complain when they do....

who @ MW aside from the other champs would you want Pav to fight???

the artical says later this year it says nothing about it being Pavs next fight.

Thats not a step up for Duddy that is a gigantic leap. And after his last two defenses Pavlik should be looking at someone more proven not fighters looking to step up. He's the middleweight champion of the world not a gatekeeper. On several occasions I said if Pavlik faced Abraham, Winky, Forrest or someone similar and then Duddy than that is fine but not next. I can think of a number of middleweights and jr middles that I'd like to see Pavlik face instead of Duddy. How about Abraham, Winky, Sturm, Williams, Forrest, Angulo, Sergioi Martinez, or Kirkland next. Thats eight fighters off the top of my head who are much better fights than Duddy.

your not thinking like bob arum or pavlik for that matter

    $$$$$$$:deal

personally id like to see Pavlik-Williams but that fight wont come off until Williams has a few more fights at MW

Winky have to agree with you there! Id love that fight to be made no doubt Winky would price himself out as usual but it be fantastic if it was made

theyre the only two that you've mentioned that would be bigger (aside from the obvious unification bouts)

Personally I think its a bad fight for Duddy to take but I cant blame the boy he wants to be the best and if you want to be the best you got to beat the best simple as.

The fight probably makes good money and Arum knows it. So seeing Duddy on Pavlik's radar makes a lot of sense, its just not a fight Pavlik should pursue next. Pavlik's title defenses haven't been the greatest and he needs an Abraham or Winky type fight to give his reign credibility. A Duddy fight needs to happen after one of those more meaningful ones. I see nothing wrong with facing a Duddy or Rubio when they make money or are a mandatory. But he needs face them in between the Abraham and Winky type fights. As of now he is facing only the Duddy's and Rubio's and not the Abrahams. But its still too early to tell just who Pavlik actually faces next, he hasn't even faced Rubio yet so he might actually end up facing Abrahm or the Williams-Winky winner next.

Great post the problem i have is that everyone is assuming Pav will fight Duddy next.
Duddy was promised a fight with Pav later on in the year. Its as simple as that

Duddy needs 3 maybe 4 fights before he can think about stepping in the ring with Pav (hes been inactive for about 9 months)

so that gives plenty of time for Kelly to unify or even fight Winky/Williams

I ought to have a bunch of quotes I can just cut and paste cuz I use them so much.

Arum changes his mind more than I change my underwear. Arum throws out names as a bone to other promoters to help get a 'buzz' for their fighter... blah, blah.....

You are wrong there, Boo don't like Duddy and he wants Pavlik to fight AA like the rest of us.

This fight has been pushed by Bob Arum from the moment Duddy started making some noise in the division. He was not progressing the way he was expected to and the Schmidt fight was a disaster for him, but thats almost old news now and if Duddy beats Vanda comfortably as he should then Arum will promote him as this tough rugged popular Irishman who is going to shock the world, but in reality he's a horrible match up with Pavlik.
We have seen this fight already.Duddy is similar to Lockett, he won't go down as easily but that just means more punishment.Pavlik KO5

    How is this great news?

Pavlik should finish off Rubio and immediately fight Abraham.
