Pavlik vs Duddy

    I just read the article on Duddy on the main page, and the comments people posted. I was quite surprised by the number of people who actually pick Duddy over Pavlik. I like John Duddy, but I don't think he has anything beyond a 10-15% chance of beating Pavlik. I can't imagine John being able to consistently slip that long-stiff jab to make it an inside fight, and he sure as hell can't win on the outside! If he does get inside, what is he up against? He's up against a bigger, stronger opponent who doesn't mind roughing a guy up inside.

    I see Pavlik controling the pace, and the ring, keeping John on the end of the jab; jab-jab-right-hand all night long with an occasional lead right thrown in. Somewhere in the middles rounds he'll trap John along the ropes or in a corner, and close the show. This could possibly be a career ending move for the young man from Derry.

    Beyond 10-15%? You mean beyond 1-1.5%? Duddy will not make it into the middle rounds, he isn't even B level.

    I was pretty mouthy about the Pav/JT rematch. Everything I said was WRONG except who would win. Now I'm trying to be gracious:yep

    you know it's the truth pipe mate. duddy is an insult to pavilk, and you know full well i'm no pavlik fan. but hey, if the $$$$$$ is right then by all means go smash the **** outta him.

    Good first title defence, alot of boxers said that's the hardest fight. Duddy is an undeafeated fan favorite but at the same time doesn't pose a huge threat to Pavlik. I'd say Duddy backs off for a while and tries to out box but gets tagged with something big late.

    I got Duddy by ko, mainly because he is a fellow Irishman, but I give him more of a chance than the people who have responded so far. Either way he won't be afraid to mix it up and if he does go down, he will do it swinging. And Duddy is too tough to end his career just by being ko'd by the world champ. He's no ****ing Jeff Lacy in that respect. I'm hoping he catches Pavlik getting cocky and turns his ****ing lights out. Duddy ko8

    I am from youngstown...so you know who i got....pavlik by KO for sure! and as far as duddy not being KOed look at edison miranda saying he would never get knocked out by pavlik....pavlik shut his mouth up fast! and Zertuche was another one too...that right hand pavlik hit him with hurt me watching it on tv!
