Could be. People are massively underestimating Pavlik at this point.

there isnt one post on this thread from someone who thinks froch will win who actually says more than "too strong."

froch fights the same way jermain did in pav/taylor I only froch can't move like jermain and is nowhere near as quick. froch stands right in front of his guy, his hands are around his waist and his chin is just hanging out there. why no one thinks this would be a liability against a guy who lays people out who are dumb enough to stand in front of him is kinda puzzling.

pavlik is 14 seconds better than jermain taylor.

you know...you actually touch on something there. look at who miranda has lost too. pav/aa/ward. any of those three imo would beat froch silly. in fact, aa may seriously injure him when they fight if he doesnt keep his hands up.

froch is strong and can hit hard, yeah...but he fights like a caveman. miranda may be just a brawler but he can put people through the ropes.

imo, while it lasted, and i'm being dead serious...froch/miranda would be more competitive than pav/froch. pav/froch would be very one-sided whereas froch/miranda would be a race to see who could knock the other out first. if miranda goes in there swinging from his ass and connects before froch can put him away its over.

people may read that ^^^ and think im crazy but think about it.

Froch's best win came against a damaged version of Jermain Taylor. And guess who inflicted the damage:think

Now, try to imagine Froch staying on his feet for 12 rounds against the version of BHop that KP fought:yikes

You know how it is SR, ESB is a trendy place.

Personally, I think Froch is somewhat underrated on here as well. To me, this looks like a war waiting to happen. They'll be similar in size, Pavlik has fought at the weight before, and no, not just Hopkins, so he should adjust fine. Even so, it wasn;t just Hopkins size that troubled Pavlik. Hopkins does a lot of things Froch can not do.

I think when looking at this fight. I see better hand speed for Pavlik, and better fundamentals. Froch may have slightly better stamina at 168 and may have a slight advantage in the chin dept(and definitely the nose dept.....couldnt resist), but to be honest, it is hard for me to pick Froch when his best defensive attribute is his ability to take the other guy's punch. Not when its KP delivering the punch.

So, I'll go KP by stoppage in rd 10.

Does anyone really believe that Pavlik will ever step up to 168 and fight any of the top guys?

    I sure as hell don't.

I think Pavlik wins this if he fights smart. He has the far superior jab, a fantastic workrate and more than enough power to get Froch's respect. On the other hand, if he gets dragged into a war as Taylor and Pascal did he could end up getting knocked out.

I've thought about it and it's nonsense.

What attributes connect Pavlik, Froch and Miranda? All three are strong come forward fighters.

When Pavlik fought Miranda, he was the one who could push his opponent back and that was huge because Miranda couldn't fight another way, just like Pavlik and Froch can't. When you take such a strong fighters strength away, they usually have no answer, which is why even in the 1990's, Tyson/Foreman would have been awful for Tyson. Strong boxers who face a stronger opponent, have to rely on flashing combinations and footwork, something Pavlik doesn't have and something Miranda didn't have, which made it an east night for Pavlik.

The stronger, tougher, harder hitting man, will always win these fights and that is Froch.
