pavlik vs hopkins in works

    maxboxing has a members only article saying that this fight might be happening this fall. Thoughts?

    I doubt this fight happens and my main question would be is at what catchweight will this fight be at?

    That would be sweet and I got no beef with it since Arum has no interest in making the best Middleweight fights happen with Winky or Abraham and theres no other Middleweights that can provide this kind of mega fight type stuff. Hopkins and Pavlik would be great BHop is getting old but the guys still crafty as hell and one of the best in the world.

    Don't know can't read the article I quit paying a while back. probally at 168, I would think its a strategy to get calzaghe in the ring if pavlik beats hopkins convincingly then joe will have to fight him.

    Well id say since Pavlik comes in around 160 the majority of the time and when you look at Hopkins 3 Light Heavyweight fights hes weighed in at 74,70,73 so hes basically averaging like 172 a fight. Id make the weight at 166 which is perfectly reasonable Pavlik just fought a few months back at 164 hes comfertable there and we known Hopkins knows how to cut remember he fought DLH at 156.

    Hopkins has to get major respect if he steps up and fights a 25 year old with power like pavlik.

    He would if people could stand to watch his fights for the full 12 rounds. Clinching over and over annoys peoples.

    This means Hopkins will be reminded why he should have retired, let this fight happen I would love nothing more than to see Pavlik knock him the **** out.

    definately a great possibility, do you think this is a bigger threat now than trinidad was on 01 for him getting ko'ed despite that outcome

    Mos def, I mean Hopkins is not the same age, doesnt have the same work rate and seems to be worried about being hit these days, he isnt the same come forward fighter we got to know when he fought Tito or when he fought Echols.
    Pavlik with Youth Size and big power and a good jab will be way too much for Hopkins I really think this fight shouldnt happen for Hopkins well being but he is a grown man let him learn his own way.

    Even the sheer workrate of pavlik will make it impossible for hopkins to win if he does survive.
