I'm not disputing that it will be a big promotional success but hey, Hopkins don't need the money.

Hopkins has said he wants big legacy fights. Lets say he fought Kessler and won everyone will just say Kessler cant beat A level fighters Hopkins/Calzaghe and plus Kessler has no drawing power in the US this fight wont happen. Hopkins would lose nothing on his legacy if he lost to Pavlik but could make it even better by beating the current unbeaten Middleweight Champion who twice defeated JT who twice beat Hopkins of course. If Hopkins dont get Pavlik the only fights that can really help his legacy would be the winner of Jones-Calzaghe so he can avenge a loss but I see neither fight happening,JT in a 3rd fight another fight I dont see being made or the Tarver-Dawson winner beating Dawson would give Hopkins the win over the quicker, younger unbeaten Champion or he become the only man to beat Tarver twice something guys like Harding,Jones,Johnson failed to do.

Yeah for sure I watched the Tarver fight earlier and Hopkins didnt just grab over and over like other fights. He was agressive in this fight at times backing Tarver to the ropes and flurrying, feinting with the left then nailing Tarver with the right or feinting and stepping in hard with rights to the body, countering Tarver at will,Nullifying Tarvers jab and left hand. That was a masterpiece I remember a moment in that fight where he counters Tarver with a overhand right and as hes throwing the right hand his legs are already in motion towards the right and once the punch lands he moves right behind Tarvers back. He probablly wont do it like that to Pavlik do to Pavliks activity but his lack of defense would get him cracked with repeated right hands. Also all of Pavliks offense comings off his jab his other shots are nothing without the jab and Bernard is great at taking away a jab ask guys with damn good jabs like Oscar,Pavlik,Calzaghe,Winky ETC. If Hopkins stepped up his workrate I see him dominating Pavlik to be honest.

Hopkins is a truly great fighter, but he disgusted me the way he behaved before and during the Calzaghe fight. How funny it would be for him to end his career with consecutive losses to "white boys". Go Pavlik!!

Wow...people are really picking Pavlik by KO. Funny thing is, its the same people who picked Calzaghe by KO.

Sry to break this to everyone. Pavlik doesnt have the skills Calzaghe does...and Hopkins DOES have the ability to make this fight as ugly as the last one. Pavlik DOES NOT MATCH UP WELL WITH BERNARD AT ALL!!!

Hopkins by WIDE UD. Too bad there is NO WAY Arum would ever let this one happen.

Thats what I thought but according to ESPN.COM Golden Boy CEO forget his name and Arum have already agreed the deal is set and just needs to be signed. Pavliks trainer has already spoke about it so im assuming its true I heard Pavlik is happy about it :yep

HEY, its their mistake, not mine....

    :D

Pavlik is a fighter with a great jab and great right hand. That is his bread and butter...hense why he uses it pretty much exclusively until he has his fighter hurt.

There is a problem tho. For him to hurt Hopkins (unlikely anyway), he would have to set and get his full power into it. With Hopkins movement and smothering...how can he be expected to do that effectively? Also, he is going to have to hit Bernard flush...and how is THAT gonna happen?

Pavlik is going to get countered ALLLLL night. He is a very powerful, but very predictable fighter (unlike Calzaghe).

Again, Hopkins UD. I am shocked Kelly's handlers are allowing this to happen....I mean, VERY shocked.

One of the first things that came to my mind was Gary Shaw sending Lacy to fight Calzaghe. The styles just do not work in their favour.

    BEYOND CORRECT!!!

I remember before that fight happened...I got BLASTED by so many on this site because I said Lacy throws too wide to be effective vs Joe who is SO much faster and throws straighter, better timed shots.

I wont even get into Pavlik's defensive shortcomings.

This fight is all wrong for him. ALL WRONG!

Sorry pal -- I picked BHop to edge Calzaghe out, and Pavlik is going to stay on the outside, and beat seven shades of **** out of Hopkins. This will be Bernard's last fight.:deal

i actually have to go with Hopkins via MD. If him and RJJ can win their fightsm they can have their last, retirement megafight and finallt retire. Personally i would love to see Kelly KO Hopkins, but i still lean towards hopkins, even at 39
