Definatly a superfight of the future.

i think Kessler has a better boxing brain than Pavlik has been fighting at the heavier weight and showed good defense and chin, i dont think Pavlik we'll be knocking him out and I cant see him outboxing Kessler.

    Kessler compeitive UD over Pavlik.

    His win over Taylor YES.

But Miranda NO. I mean Miranda; who has he defeated? Every big fight he's had he's lost. He got kayoed by Pavlik and he couldn't finish Abraham dispite a severely broken jaw.

A fight we should all push for once we know if Kessler is back for real. It would be a fight with great punches and of great entertainment value. Moreover it has value in pure sporting terms. Let's push for it!!!!. Then we might see it soon.

Is it me or is all the Pavlik nuthuggery going at fullspeed?

He is a good fighter, but he still has alot to learn.

At this stage in his career i think Calzaghe would beat and befunddle him with relative ease.

Kessler by ud but Kessler has a big right hand aswell and in my opinion a better jab. People who say Pavlik would stop Kessler obviously dont know that Kessler has never been down amatuer or pro.

Also Pavlik is a heavy hitter but he isnt an explosive 1 punch ko artist, he hit Taylor with quite alot in their rematch and Taylor never went anywhere.

On the back of a win over Gary Lockett...

Kessler has everything over Pavlik, he's bigger, a better technician, harder puncher. The only question is who gets to beat Pavlik first, Calzaghe or Kessler?

Calzaghe holds all the aces against Pavlik, speed, technician, footwork, workrate, chin.

Pavliks only trump card i believe is his punching power but Calzaghe has a granite chin, and i believe Pavlik is a little too predictable. Pavlik has excellent workrate aswell to keep upwith Joe,but Joes foot speed and hand speed will let him pull the trigger whilst Pavlik is still thinking.

    Agreed.

We've gone over the pro's and cons of all these fighters before, yet some people still don't realise that in the case of Pavlik fighting someone like Kessler, a higher workrate would just result in a bigger beating for Pavlik, as Kessler blows him away with ring movement, technique, speed, and probably even with his angles.

Calzaghe would be far superior with his angles, and in between copping beatings, Pavlik would be having fits because of it.

A Pavlik V Kessler or Calzaghe would be the biggest 'I told you so' going around in boxing.

first of all i think pavlik would loose to kessler (late ko or wd) at least to the kessler we knew before he lost to joe, but im kinda looking forward to seeing wether he still has the fire inside or if he has lost something to joe(besides his belts )
i think he will return sharp and hungry june 21th but u never know how the first loss
    affects a boxer.

I don't know much about Kessler. Other than he lost his big fight to Calzaghe. I imagine it would be a tough fight for both that could go either way.

Kessler is NOT a harder puncher than Pavlik. Kessler punching power is being a tad overrated on these boards. In regards to punching power Kessler is not in the top 5 of SMW.

In terms of boxing skills and fundamentals I rate Kessler a level over Pavlik!

    Kessler by UD!

Kessler is a stiffer puncher than Pavlik at 168 IMHO.
