Pavlik vs Lockett

Lockett should have improved fitness now he's working with Enzo since you saw him last but Pavlik will probably be too big and strong - although he is reportedly killing himself to make 160. Lockett can be a hurtful puncher but in this instance Pavlik has the size, strength and reach advantage. Whatever, ole Enzo can't lose as Warren is spending the week leading up to the fight negotiating the details of a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight whenever that is due. Could be significant as RJJ is said to be asking for silly money even though he's been calling Calzaghe out, and if Miranda beats Abraham then Pavlik has nowehere to go. Joe will probably be ringside and it'll be interesting to see his face if his pal Gary does pull off a shock!!

 

its an educated risk. lockett is hardly one of warren's golden money-makers, but will become so if he even makes a dent in pavlik.

plus he earns a few favours with the american networks/promoters to be called in later

Pavlik has height, reach, strength, power and skill advantages over Lockett. I've seen Lockett look real good but against low opposition not Edison Miranda or Jermain Taylor.

I expect Pavlik to put it on him early. He'll spear him with that jab, follow with the right and if Lockett gets stationary, then Pavlik unloads. If Pavlik unloads on you, then I suspect it's lights out. Miranda and Taylor have good chins but were put out badly.
