good stuff :good that's a fair analysis (both posts). i agree that pav can win. i also agree this shouldnt be made for the reasons you just laid out. if the williams fight doesnt get made, then let him rematch sergio...get sturm in their with pavlik and the winners can meet.

pav/williams is still the biggest fight and i'm thinking this is "gorilla dust" from arum to try and get more leverage in negotiations w/ williams' camp.

Martinez to box circles around Pavlik if this comes off.

Agreed. I actually think Williams beat Martinez, but given how bad he made Pdub look at times I think there's definitely unfinished business there. (Also, Martinez looked so poorly conditioned at 160; I'm not sure he handles the weight that well. If he didn't fade so fast the outcome could be decisively the other way.) If we get Pavlik/Sturm and PW/Martinez II and the winners fight, the result would be much more meaningful.

If this fight is front burner then we can assume Paul is out of the picture for both guys? Something there...... :think

Martinez UD - but with a few scares.

Matinez beat Williams 115-114 on my card. But I could see 115-114 for Williams or as wide as 116-113 Martinez.

I see a few posters claiming Martinez would "box circles" around Pavlik. People have been saying that FOR YEARS, and the list of guys who could actually pulled that off stands at ONE, and that fight was not a middleweight fight.

Stylistically Martinez is a more difficult fight than Williams. However, "itrymariti" has it right. You can sum up his assertions by simply saying; "Pavlik would catch Martinez hard enough and often enough to slow him down and take him out in the latter rounds."

Pavlik does not need this guy, and Williams has now proven that he is only a welterweight. I'm hoping for Pavlik/Sturm.

You made a Pavlik/Angulo poll, and got your ass handed to you 25-5. Now you're over here hyping Martinez:patsch

Your credibility is suspect at best.

I'm hyping Martinez, look at the countless posters on this thread who say it is an easy UD for Martinez. It wont be.

Well i think Martinez would make Pavlik look bad and might even stop him late. Although id give Pavlik a punchers chance, but im about 75% sure Martinez takes this.

so your admitting martinez beat the overrated williams, who wins simply because of his freakish size compared to all of his opponents, as soon as williams fights an elite figther his size he will be beaten so decisevely the judges wont be able to rob his opponent like they did martinez

Ummm, I'm I the only one who is asking why he is not planning to fight Williams.

This like Abraham all over again. It was a close fight but Williams beat Martinez so surely the champ should be looking to beat the winner.

Was I too subtle? :D Why isn't Williams talking to Pavlik or Martinez? I've said before, I didn't score rounds, but Williams was outclassed and beat up.

struggle early... finish strong late... win by like a clear 4 rounds
