i disagree.... i think paul's volume punching & speed combination will give pavlik a hard time....

everything williams did badly against martinez... pavlik won't...

then again i could be wrong.... i just want to see williams vs pavlik.... **** this other ****

Williams only lost to a slick southpaw in Quintana. Williams barely won vs a better slicker southpaw in Martinez in a 4 week notice. Pavlik has never face a fighter at middleweight that is a slick southpaw.

Pav has thrown volume in the past and generally has a better connect rate. Plus he throws harder. I think he can wear Martinez down IF that is what it takes.

at 5 foot 11 and a former welterweight....he doesnt have the power to gain KPs respect...he will be tricky for a few rounds until the bomb lands.... if margartio can tko him at 147...KP will do the same

I think SM would give Pavlik a tough fight, but Pavlik's size would be too much for him. If SM were a true MW, I'd predict him to take a decision.

But this is a good fight for Kelly. He needs to prove he can take out a guy like this, rather than the sluggers he's made his name beating. I'd be much more excited about this bout than Sturm, who is **** and still living off a fight from 2004 for ****'s sake.

Either Williams or Martinez would be good fights and get the public interested in KP again.

i hear that. i've said this earlier and i know youve made a similar observation...but it would seem to me that this is a way of negating one of camp williams' negotiating tools. that being that williams has options so you (arum) better make this worth our while. saying we'll go to 147 or rematch sergio is showing arum there are other avenues for paul to take. by telling camp williams that no one at 147 worth a **** will fight you and we'll go ahead and offer sergio the fight if you won't take it seems to me to be all part of the negotiations. at least i hope that is what this is.

History would say it won't be Martinez. Arum always throws curve balls out.

well hbo has at least made a previous offer for pav/sturm. it was a lowball amount but hopefully something on that front can get done if the williams fight doesnt come off right away (b/c im sure it will at some point)

sturm has a strap and a unification bout is always a good thing.

I wish Kelly was fighting Williams or Bute but Martinez isn't a bad fight by any means.
