Great point. Kelly's got too much size for most natural middleweights as is, let alone a guy coming up that much.

you can't possibly believe that ? This fight is for one thing, and one thing only "the money" and nothing else. Arum gripes that HBO should have forced Joe vs Pavlic , but then he goes and make the Pavlic Vs Paul fight ..

Just because he walks around at 154 or 160 doesn't mean he can compete at it . weight does not equate into strength and performance increase .

I'm really beginning to suspect that Paul Williams decided he simply could not do 147 anymore.

And really even if he loses this could prove beneficial to William's career. If he goes the distance or even gives a strong performance before getting KO'd then he can go down to 154 with some serious cred and terrorize that division for awhile. Then in a year or two when Abraham and Pavlik move up to Super-Middleweight he'll be in prime position to move in and claim some middlewight belts.

The only things he really needs to avoid is getting smoked or worse injured.

    Please.

I think Paul Williams could beat Lockett and he went three rounds. Plus Paul Williams has never been really hurt before. (Quintas outboxed him and bloodied up his face but never managed to stun him ) He's a better opponent than say Raul Marquez who eeked out an eliminator victory against the technically deficient Giovanni Lorenzo to become Arthur Abraham's mandatory.

Do I think he'll beat Pavlik? No. But he certainly has the capability to make a decent showing for himself. And I really don't think that his management would let him do this if they weren't sure that he could fight competitively at middleweight.

Pavlik by KO. Probably around 7 or 8. But a bruising battle up to that point with a lot of action from both fighters.

ive said paul williams easily has the frame to fill out for 160, takin on pavlik as ur first fight movin up in weight like that, shows he's pretty confident... i think potentially this could be a great fight...
