Pavlik should have been fighting Andy Kolle, Carlos Quintana, shot to **** Winky, and a feather fisted light middle? That's a rather odd take on the situation.

 

Could you make yourself look like any more of an idiot? Kolle is shite, yes, but that was an introductary fight at MW. Winky and Verno Philips were past there best, yes, but are still decent names. Especially Winky, who was still regarded as a top contender.

Quintana is/was a very, very solid contender at welterweight. And feather-fisted light-middle? Give me a break. One, he's not feather-fisted. And two, I bet you wouldn't be saying that if that's the fight that gets made. That 'feather-fisted light-middle' would be giving Pavlik the world of trouble.

I love the way you're trying to belittle Williams recent resumé. What's Pavlik done? Been humilated up to 170 by Hopkins in losing pretty much every round, and then fighting borderline C level guys in Rubio and Espino. Now I can respect that the staph infection was obviously a real problem after the Rubio fight, and that the Espino fight was short-notice and he has to find a stiff to beat to keep the belts.

But why try and belittle Williams' resumé? It's clearly far better than Pavlik's recent work, and he's trying to get the big fights. Pavlik is now back to 100% it would seem and he's talking about offering Williams just $1.2 million, and then talking about fighting Brian Rose? Give me a break. The guy is wasting his prime years and that's what I cannot accept.

I love how people criticize Williams' resume. Whether he's worth the title of "Most ducked man in boxing" or not, he has been avoided and ignored by the best fighters. Yeah, Floyd fans can say "he's fought nobody", Pavlik fans can say "he's made no money" but how do you expect him to, when nobody will fight the guy?

Margarito was avoided himself, Quintana has been avoided, Winky spents years being ducked and Martinez will be ducked heavily in the future. The only people he's made fights against, are those who've been in a similar situation to him.

Williams making low money in the past is irrelevant, he deserves more. He's the only guy Pavlik can fight, who has any credibility. A Sturm fight means nothing, a Mubdine fight means nothing. I don't even know who Rose is.

Just pay the guy a little bit more, for ****s sake.

Pavlik treats his fans like absolute ****.

I do think it's an unfair offer. The figure itself isn't worthy of such a huge fight. Williams is the man everyone wants to see Pavlik fight, so they should just appease him, give him a million or so more and get it on.

I hate to see so much squabbling over money. Somehow, I doubt Pavlik had the same mentality prior to getting so much glory. It's a shame to see.

I do actually like Pavlik. I just feel for his fans. You guys deserve so much better, honestly.

We keep throwing that $1.2 million around as if it was the whole story. It wasn't. The $1.2 million represented PW's share of the HBO money. The original contract, the one that is still on the table, included provision for Williams to receive a percentage of the gate, the endorsements, and some other revenue.

 

People are seriously over rating Kelly's earning potential at the moment to be perfectly honest with you. Well, actually since he became champ. They make it sound like he is a $10 mill per fight guy. $3 was tops vs Hopkins and he has gone down since.

 

It's not 50/50 afterall, and that's what Williams should be getting.

 

Was the $3.75m that was floating around last year the HBO purse money, or the total?
