    :patsch

you say it like he was facing a bum in a tune up

he was fighting the bionic man, a HOFer one of the best of his generation who aged like fine wine, not to mention it was a stylistic nightmare match up for pavlik, Froch gets KO'd against pavlik in an eb and flow fight

Froch will **** him. Pavlik is overhyped.

It's kinda weird how this matchup is perceived by people now. Froch beat Taylor in the 12th going into the round losing and now suddenly he's a huge favourite over Pavlik. Pavlik did just as good a job on Taylor, even better the first time. So he got whooped by Hopkins and now suddenly Pavlik is Froch's whipping boy?

Like Froch would do better against Hopkins

I think Pavlik finished Taylor impressively in the first fight but was being beaten easily, well, easier than Froch was anyway!

Rubbish. It was an even fight with a point here or there, Froch was getting owned through the first 6 and that ain't even in doubt.

It was nothing like 4 points though mate, many people had Pavlik winning. You make it sound like a back from the brink victory when it was a close fight. Pavlik was as effective through the first 6 as Froch was through the latter 6 against Taylor. The only difference is Taylor was still fighting well too. The KO came because Pavlik was already done wearing him down, far quicker than Froch did.

Froch barely landed a meaningful punch through the first 6 rounds, it looked like it could be an embarrassing night for a while. The comparison is ridiculous.

    Pavlik Vs Froch

Could be a very good betting opportunity as the bookies may price this up very wrongly.

I just see Froch being too strong. The weight will play a key role imo as Pavlik won't look such a monster in there with Froch. I do think it will be much closer than most are suggesting. I also think the Taylor win will have done wonders for Froch's convidence which will also help him on fight night. I believe he was his own worst enemy for the first 4 rnds against Taylor because his body was so tightly coiled up with nerves he couldn't throw a punch. He now has that first big performance against an exceptional opponent in the states under his belt and should be more fluid earlier. Froch late stoppage for me.

Froch owes a fight to Showtime and I believe he wants a home title defence = Froch and Pavlik unlikely to fight each other next.

Abraham almost set to move up to super middle.

Don't see Pavlik v Froch OR AA, to be honest.

    Froch v Pavlik:think

Hard one to weigh-up for me; I feel like the fight against Hopkins may have been an abberation, an off night for Pavlik allied to a nightmare style for him. Then again the weight may well be a factor, Kelly just mightn't carry the power he needs up with him......I dunno.

Froch is a much better style for Pavlik, thats for sure.

I would say this is a 50-50 fight right now, but there are a couple of intangibles that won't be cleared up until the bell actually rings.

Theres no way Pavlik was winning i had him 5 rounds down going into the 7th and there was the knock down. Also I had Taylor winning the 2nd fight.

Froch has come out and said he doesnt care about making crappy mandatorys and easy defences.

If it does happen that's a c r a c k i n g 30th birthday present for me lol. I think it's fantasy stuff to be honest. Froch will take on Bute in Sept. Besides Pavlik will want too much money and that will **** Froch off usual bladdy ****ing bla. Pavlik will get Sturm - beat him - and the Yanks will rejoice at the rebirth of their hero. Bull****.

It'd still be quite cool if there was a big card on my 30th. Anyhoo.
