Manny gave dumb ass instructions in the round 3. Pavlik was still hurt and Taylor let him regain his common sense.

The first fight was good and I'd expect the rematch to be as well. Couple thoughts, 1 Taylor is a throwback type of fighter. Like him or not the guy keeps facing the best. 2 I don't expect to see this on ppv so lets hope it stays that way, credit to HBO if its off ppv. 3 I had Taylor ahead at the time of the stoppage and I think a lot of others did as well so there's no way I'd count him out in the rematch. I actually like his chances better this time than the first fight. 4 I hope Pavlik, who would stay middleweight champion win or lose if the fights at 166, doesn't stay at super middle after the fight. He could be a big-time middleweight champ with a long reign, he has plenty of time to move up.

The outcome of the second fight will not matter for HBO as long as people tune in for it and they sure will. HBO might think JT will lose but this is still going to be a popular fight.

You beat me to the comment. I wish EVERY ref was Smoger. And if you need a reason he didn't count JT it was because he was slumped against his legs and not moving. I heard that he actually did start counting but stopped immediately because it was obvious he wasn't getting up. Just what I heard though; I haven't watched the fight again yet. I actually also give JT great odds in the rematch if the moron would just box. I remember he landed something like 65% of his power shots through round 6; that is insane! He has very good chances in the rematch...but not at a knockout imo since Pavlik won't get cocky this time around. I could see a UD for JT (non-debateable)

JT will beat that no-hoper Pavlik in the rematch because he will fix his mistakes. Pavlik is what he is..jab, jab, telegraphed right hand. Taylor was countering over Pavlik jab until the 5th round when he stop doing it.

Pavlik has no defense, doesn't move his head and has no footwork. Taylor was faster and was whooping on the 15 min of fame Pavlik before getting KTFO.

Pavlik will not improve because he is limited, he will find out in the rematch that fighting constrruction workers and sewer cleaners from Tijuana is much different then fighting elite fighters.

Everyong keeps saying that Pavlik will KO him quicker...well I say Taylor will drop him again and this time WILL finish him. There a reason Taylor beat him in the amateurs and there is a reason why Taylor was leading on all three OFFICIAL scorecards before the TKO. Had Pavlik and Taylor not dropped each other , Pavlik still would have lost because he's skillless and can only punch.

And please Oh please Lord ..keep this worthless Ohioian away from Bhop, he'll murder this kid.

Pavlik fought Zuniga, Miranda and Taylor and knocked them all out.
Taylor was 21 and Pavlik was 17 when they fought in the amateurs.
Taylor lead on the scorecards but the fight was close and the rounds were tough to score. I personally had Pavlik up by 1 point.

How can Zuniga and Miranda compare to Hopkin (2x), Winky, Ouma and Spinks....Those are elite fighters. I personally had Tayloy up by 3 points but it doesn't matter because we aren't the OFFICIAL JUDGES (who had Taylor winning) and plus Pavlik took it out their hands anyway.

Pavlik has a BAD chin (shits made of phucking crayola putty), he's been down 4 times compare to JT who has been down once.

Your Bhop is over the hill, no way he beats Pavlik. Taylor has a chance, especially if Pav shows overconfidence, does his cocky dance. But father time will prevail. Father time has already caught up with "Bhop" and Taylor-great fighters from the past.
