Definitely could see this happening...but not anytime soon. If Taylor moves up and makes a big name for himself and Pavlik does...there could be some interest. But this is at least 2-3 years from now.

i knew, and know, there would be a 3rd fight... you can just tell, its in the air, so to speak, after the 12th round.... i dont think it will happen soon, but if these two continue to be succesful its a 100% thing a few years from now imo.

As a Taylor fan i'd love to see a 3rd match, but not straight away. Let Pavlik sweap the 160lb division and Taylor make some noise in 168, possibly win a title and they both can meet down the line like 2 years from now atleast.

If taylor wins a title at 168 and Pav moves up in a year or two , it will be on. Taylor needs a few wins first though. Right now i feel the fight is pointless.

I wonder if Arum is having problems filling in the Duddy gap and is just trying to keep excitement up? It was made clear JT will never fight at 160 again. But, that was the promoter speaking.... ;)

Pavlik's greatest strength = His relentless workrate and his seemingly limitless stanima.
Taylor's greatest weakness = His stanima.

If Taylor attempts to out fight Pavlik he'll need to get lucky (unlikely since Pavlik is intelligent enough not to make the same mistake twice) like he did in their first fight (and this time finish him) because if not Pavlik will KO him once Taylor gets tired and slows down. If he attempts to conserve his energy and win by throwing the better punches then Pavlik will drown him with workrate.

Pavlik is hardly unbeatable. But styles make fights and his style is one for which Taylor (given his stanima problems) has no answer for. As such Taylor would be well served to avoid Pavlik for the time being and rack up some wins to rebuild his rep and establish his place in the super-middleweight rankings.
