Kessler will have to get past the gatekeeper, Miranda, and he doesn't seem willing to take that fight.

Come on.. Kessler does not need to prove himself by beating Miranda. Miranda is simply an inferior boxer to Kessler. Miranda would mean good publicity in the US, but dont get it twisted. Miranda is a gatekeeper, Kessler is a champion without any belts (because he lost them to the p4p no. 2, which is fair enough).

Strange logic this. He is the champion because some one else beat him and took the belts?:-( Wouldn't that make the person he lost them to the champion? Kelly holds 2 sanctioned belts and the linear title which brought the ring trinket. Kessler needs to fight Miranda to prove his worth.

Why the hell does he need to beat Miranda of all people, to prove his worth?

He already beat superior fighters to Miranda, Mundine and Andrade, barely dropping a round. The only thing he needs to do his shake off the ring rust, grab a belt, and get himself in the frame for a fight with Taylor/Froch/Bute or whoever else

How soon they forget. This is called 'turnabout'. But on a serious note, if you can have one while talking about the abc's, Palle claims HE got Miranda promoted to #2 in the rankings for the WBA, yet Miranda is not in the mix they just announced? I'm quickly becoming one of the people that thinks the belts are now more harm than good.

A lot of people on this thread are giving Pavlik WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT this early...and I say that AS A PAVLIK FAN. I absolutely love watching Kelly Pavlik because he always brings his best to the ring - you won't see him give 90% in any fight. His two fights with Taylor were incredible, and Taylor is a very accomplished middleweight, but to say that Taylor KOs Calzaghe (a guy that's only been down a handful of times and is an incredibly clever boxer, not to mention undefeated in over 40 fights) and Kessler (a guy that nearly pulled off the Calzaghe upset and is a far more complete boxer than Pavlik at this point in my view) is a little much at this point. Pavlik still needs to improve his defense in my mind, as he seemed to be easy to hit at times against Taylor.

Besides that, before he moves up in weight (if he chooses to), I would like to see him dispose of fellow undefeated middleweight Arthur Abraham. You're talking about a guy that has his jaw broken against Edison Miranda and still went the distance (although many think that he lost that fight, to be fair). Both guys have an iron will and some pretty heavy fists, and I think this fight would be as entertaining as any at light heavyweight.

So Pavlik just edges Taylor in the rematch and now he not only beats, but KO's the two best supermiddleweights in Calzaghe and Kessler? Oh OK, makes a lot of ****ing sense.

Tayor wouldn't KO or TKO Ole Joe, but, he is faster and this would be a contest about point scoring. I like Taylor's chances better than Kelly's in this respect. But, we will NEVER see this fight so my opinion is just as good as anyone elses since I'll never be proven right or wrong. :D
