Why hasn't either of these fights happened for Pavlik? I would think both of them would do pretty decent money wish especially with Trinidad. I just don't understand why Pavlik's camp is taken this next fight. I understand Rubio cause he was mandatory but come on now..if not Duddy( which I think Pavlik would K.O quick) or Abrahim then why not a bigger name opponent who could make things interesting at least. Just my thoughts...

Because Trinidad is retired, and Wright is high risk low reward.

Tito has talked about fighting Pavlik, but wanted a catch weight fight at 165-66. Team Pavlik said 160 for a title defense, or nothing.

Winky Wright is a whole different story. Pavlik has called Winky out half a dozen times. Team Pavlik tried to use Winky as a stepping stone when Kelly was coming up, but Winky would not give them the time of day. Can't blame Winky for that. KP was nobody in those days, and he was demolishing everything that got in front of him. Very high risk, low reward, small pay day, for Winky at the time.

Then after Pav beat JT, Winky started bad mouthing and accusing KP of ducking him. Arum told Winky to beat Sturm and they would talk. Sturm ain't coming out of his cave.

Before the BHop fight Arum offered Winky a fight. Pavlik said Winky "is a little guy who doesn't hit very hard. I'd love to smack him around the ring." Winky priced himself out by turning dow $2.4 million and a cut of the PPV revenue.

Winky is fighting Paul Williams later this month. If Winky wins, we'll probably see Pavlik/Wright early next year. There's bad blood there, and KP has been trying to make this fight for years.

Isn't the plan for Pavlik to fight a Duddy type opponent, then Abraham, if he gets past Forrest?

Tito, as much as I like the guy, is irrelevant at this point, and should stay retired. Also, Winky would school Pavlik like Hopkins did.

Both were tried and never happend. Tito wouldn't come down to middle and at the time, Pavlik HAD to do a mandatory. Winky was Winky and priced himself out. Now Tito has indicated he is willing to come down a little further in weight, but after Hopkins, Loew stated anyone wanting Kelly had to come to 160.

Forrest opted to fight Matinez. That's his mandatory, and they were furious over the Forrest Abraham negotations. I'll try to find a link for you right now.
