Why don't they just fight a real opponent? This is getting ridiculous.:-(

There's no excuse for Pavlik fighting someone like Vera. Does nothing for him and it's just a waste of time. Golovkin would be a great opponent for Pavlik. Pirog also has fought above 160 so maybe they can agree to a catch weight. Pavlik needs to either fight some good veteran such as Andrade, or a good prospect. Vera type opponents aren't gonna cut it, if he want any respect from boxing fans.

Hang on a second , Pavlik at the moment is in the lowest point in his career. He has had major disappointments , and in his last fight was beaten up by a light middle, two fights previous beaten up by an old man. He has a lot of demons and needs confidence building fights . I think he should move up to super middle fight a top ten name and build again.

Pavlik/Sturm is a main event that deserves its own card. If Pavlik cannot stay at 160, it's a pointless fight.

    Pavlik/Pirog: See Pavlik/Sturm

Pavlik/Andrade: Makes sense at 168, but not at a catchweight, and it is also a main even type fight. In addition, Andrade is looking to fight on the Pascal/Hopkins card.

    Pavlik/Stieglitz: Main event.

Pavlik/Bute: You guys might have noticed Bute is a little busy right now.

Pavlik/Golovkin: Golovkin has travelled outside Germany a grand total of one time, and that was a fight with no-hoper Milton Nunez in Panama!

This upcoming fight is not about Pavlik climbing the ranks. If he can still make 160, he's top 3. If he moves to 168, him and Bute are the highest ranking fighters who are not in the S6.

Nor, is the upcoming fight about Pavlik "proving" himself. If you claim that Pavlik is not a world class boxer, then you need to shut the **** up about how great Martinez is!

The fight on November 13th serves one purpose, and one purpose only. It is an opportunity to assess Pavlik's weight situation, and decide whether to fight for a title at 160, or fight for a title at 168. This is all well documented. It would be a real breathe of fresh air if posters on ESB would educate themselves instead of insisting that their opinions are more important than the facts.

If Vera gives him problems, he is finished. Kirkland smoked that fool. But if he come out and KTFO Vera it will look good.......remember Vera stopped Lee. Lee isn't trash.....

Pavlik finally lost his title so now he can continue fighting the tomato cans he was looking to make a middleweight title reign fighting. Only this time, he shouldn't get much heat about it because he has no titles. So I say let him build up that legacy in peace, Youngstown will appreciate it.

If the only purpose of this fight is to see if he can make 160, they could very well do it in the ****ing gym and spend the money on a decent PPV undercard fight instead, because no one gives a damn about Pavlik's diet on sugar-free opposition for $55.

Vera stopped Demers too. Lee and Demers are his best wins. Lorenzo's best win was ----- well -- he doesn't have any worth talking about. Edouard had a couple nice wins YEARS ago, but none since Jermain KOed him. I'm a little surprised that people try to claim Vera is a step down from Lorenzo.Vera does seem to run hot and cold. If you watch the Lee and McEwan fights, the difference between Vera running hot and Vera running cold is pretty clear.
