I did not mean to imply that I expect a 3-4 round KO. A very early stoppage would not surpirse me, but that's not what I was referring to. It generally takes Pavlik 3-4 rounds to put everything together. After that he usually really turns it on.

A lot depends on Paul's approach. If he works hard and smart at winning a decision, he could see the late rounds. Considering that no middleweight has ever answered the bell for the 10th, even that would be an accomplishment. However, Peterson talks like he thinks PW can out gun Pavlik. If they take that approach, it's over in 5 rounds.

Workrate? Pavlik through 97 punches in round one with Miranda trying to take his head off with 94 shots of his own. PW's work rate won't mean **** to Pavlik.

And on what basis do you believe Pavlik's loss to Hopkins took something? That is a really nonsensical opinion. KP suffered one loss while sick and injured fighting two division north of his own division, and that loss came against a universally recognized all time great. Ya, a loss like that is going to just destroy a kid who has been fighting since he was 9 ****ing years old:patsch

Thanks for that sophisticated analysis. It's clear you've really thought this fight through in depth.

The 7th round seems entirely reasonable. Kelly likes to start fast, but it generally takes him 3-4 rounds to really get in the zone. Once he hits that next gear, look out! McKart, Zertuche, Miranda, and Taylor all got put away between round 6 and round 8. I think Rubio would have been done in 7-8 if Kelly hadn't spent the 6th round clowning.

I keep trying to make the point that Kelly was above his weight class, injured and sick. Doesn't matter what the geniuses here on ESB think Kelly KNOWS he wasn't 100% for that fight. If he was, then yes, the Bhop fiasco could have taken something from him.
