Who is there at middle weight for Pavlik to fight , asides from Winky & Abraham that would be competitive ? , a calzaghe fight looks highly unlikely , Duddy will be smashed much like Lockett if that happens. Is the MW division running out of world class talent. Or will Pav have to fight nobodys for a few years....

Mora fight dhould be entertaining while its lasts , i wonder though if Pav will be forced to move up weights in search of the big fights , I do hope the fight with Abraham happens , could be a classic.

The MW division is very weak. Abraham's really the only interesting match-up left for Pavlik there. The real competition is at SMW.

I agree the comp at SM looks to be much better , i hope Pav does not hang around at MW for to long taking meaningless fights.

He won't. He's had a taste of superstardom. He's not going to squander that by fighting lackluster MWs. He'll fight one, maybe two more fights at MW and then move up.

Whats up with Winky ? , i read he was after one last career ppv fight , surley Pav fits the bill , or is he waiting for Oscar.

No doubt some great fights at SM for Pav.

You would have to respect Oscar for stepping up to fight Pavlik , yes , that would be most cool!. I think Oscars searching out former super featherweights to fight though....

At least Wright is a notable opponent at MW , in shape he could give Pav a better fight then say ,, Duddy.

Winky gets by on his rep. He hasn't done anything significant in years.

    Potential Opponents
    ------------------------

Arthur Abraham - Loosely set for Early 2009. Best fight possible plus Abraham is looking mighty confident after wasting Miranda in 4.

Winky Wright - only if Winky leaves his "priced himself out of any fights" retirement. ( I think Pavlik beats him. Winky's been out of action just too long )

Felix Sturm - Sturm wouldn't face Abraham in Germany for twice the money. I doubt anything short of mind control can get him to face Pavlik.

Randy Griffin - If by chance Randy pulls the upset and beats Strum ( He fought him to a draw last time ) then we'll have two American champions. There would be considerable pressure for the two to fight.

Sebastian Sylvester - The European champion has his eyes on forcing the winner of Sturm-Griffin to face him. But as he's worked this heard to get into the WBA mandatory I doubt he'll risk it by taking on Pavlik or Abraham. But should he get the belt perhaps he won't be as "risk adverse" as Sturm.

Anthony Mundine - Not a bad fight.

Marco Antonio Rubio - Keeps getting mentioned. I think he'd do better than Lockett but not by that much.

Paul Williams - Yes the welterweight has shown an interest in Pavlik. But I feel he loses too many of his natural advantages in moving up two weight classes. Yes Williams is a big wleterweight, but Pavlik is a big middleweight.

Sergio Mora - A bad fight. But on the plus side a lot of folks would find Sergio Mora getting his face rearranged very gratifying.

Joe Greene - A little inexperienced but he's a US boxer in a division filled with European unknowns.

John Duddy - It'd be a popular fight that would bring a lot of Duddy's fans into Pavlik's orbit. But surely there's a better way than human sacrifice for Pavlik to gain fans.

Sebastian Zbik - Supposedly feather fisted. Not a good matchup for Pavlik. But that figures as he's Lockett's replacement for the #1 WBO mandatory contender.

The best thing for Pavlik too do would to fight Rubio in the midwest Mora on west coast and Duddy on the east coast then Abraham in 2009 in Germany. Then if can't make 160 anymore he should move up to 168. But if Pavlik make 160 I would not mind seeing stay at middleweight in a series of showcase bouts with Sturm, Sylvester, Griffin, Mundine and a comebacking Giovanni Lorenzo.
After all with no Calzaghe fight for Pavlik there really is no rush for Kelly to move up to 168:deal
