It obviously was a ploy so he did not have to face williams.

Wasn't it a staph infection? I had a guy at work get that **** in his elbow, he technically could have died from it, and was out of work in the hospital for a week. Took a few weeks to get the swelling down, he's fine now though.

    Staph is some freaky ****.

Williams was a 50-50 proposition, IMO.

The timing of the postponements (both of them) and now the timing of this bold defence of his MW belts indicates some serious issues in the balls department.

I had believed that the ducking of AA was a management thing and that Kelly himself was quite keen to get it on. But with the blatant ducking of the punisher, I have to start thinking that Kelly himself has serious confidence issues here.

With only one elite scalp on his belt, (and being a five seconds away from a second round KO in THAT fight), the word OVERHYPE is starting to loom large.

Kelly needs to make a statement in the ring against a serious contender.

And he needs to make it soon.

He pulled out of Dec. 12th w/ Williams but is now fighting someone else Dec. 19th for some reason.

I aint saying he is staright up ducking.... But he went from almost dying

To fighting literally 2 weeks later... I'd respect him if he just said he needed more time if that's what it was... There is no talking pavliks way out of this one tho.... Jack lowe could sign in and I wouldn't even agree with him

Dec. 5th...said he needed a few more weeks b/c his inability to use his hand (make a fist not staph) would have caused him to not have a full training camp. williams camp said **** that were going on the 5th with or w/o you. i can't say i blame them. williams needs to be in the ring too and i doubt they wanted to risk another setback. both guys are young and if they both take care of business and kelly is 100% the fight can still happen in the near future.

I don't understand why people are hating Pavlik for trying to get back on track as quickly as possible? He wasn't cleared to fight on the 5th, so he didn't.

This guy nailed it. Pavlik hasnt done nothing since Taylor. And after Taylors recent losses and the BHOP meltdown, it makes you really question just how good Pavlik really is.

Pavlik will fight the winner of Williams/Martinez. He stops Williams in 5 rounds. Martinez is smarter than PW and a lot slicker. He can make 8-10 rounds with KP. If it's Williams that wins, 75% will pick him to "destroy" Pavlik. Afterward the same 75% will claim Williams was just an over rated welterweight. The average IQ on ESB is so low that at least 50% will pick Martinez to beat Pavlik, and afterward the same posters will claim Martinez was to small and always over rated.

****ing, pathetic, moronic fools on here make me sick.

You know what. I am a big Pavlik fan and basically "had his back" throughout all these problems. But this is bull**** right here. I HATE to say this but I am really starting to lose my fanfare for this guy.I'm not saying I won't root for him but after pulling out of a HUGE 12/5 fight and then fighting some low level dude a week later is shady.

Boo save it my man.... You can say what you want but this guy went from

    "His death bed"

To fighting 2 weeks later... Its rediculous...

I mean if he needed more time... Man up & say it... Otherwise never sign on the dotted line ..... That's like having an acl & mcl tear and then playing a sport 2 weeks later... Complete joke
